  1. There's different Protection Racket ones in the current range, the two more expensive cases look like the old style semi rigid one they used to do whereas the cheaper one looks like a softer traditional gigbag.
  2. It's the piezo strip, the saddle screws look angled down to make contact with it. There used to be bass uke conversion kits floating around on eBay where the rubber uke strings would pass through the bridge, even that looked fiddly and not worth ruining a guitar for when you could buy a new bass uke with gigbag for around £90 at the time. Either way it's got 6 bids fo far, up to £2.20.
  3. I've got a couple of the Gator Pro Go semi rigid ones, great gigbags especially if you need lots of storage.
  4. Just got an email for G4M and this is in their clearance sale, usually around £90 so less than half price. Anybody after a high quality mini desk for practice etc should be well served, I use mineevery day: https://www.google.com/search?q=soundcraft+notepad+5&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwivruPDg4b6AhX-QEEAHYImCtoQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1920&bih=955&dpr=1
  5. WIlkinson BBOT will probably fetch enough to cover postage.
  6. Although it is tempting to stick a £1 bid on for a laugh there's always a chance you might end up winning it and having to pay a tenner to get the thing posted. That strip on the front of the bridge is the piezo, that's why the ends of the saddle screws(well most of them) are making contact with it. Mad.
  7. Mad how it's still there, great option for a travel bass. I play my 1505 every day, such a great instrument. Been after a cheap headless 5er as a backup but there's nothing, missed out on a full body Steinberger recently for £220, still kicking myself for not immediately buying it.
  8. What's that bit of wire/metal stcking out of the bridge on that pic I posted above btw? Seems like there's a bar connecting the saddle screws as well, is it a bizarre earthing strip? The more I look at it the more confused I get.
  9. Just scanned the PMT clearance and they have Roto flats on sale for £27 at the moment: https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/rotosound-rs77el-jazz-bass-monel-flatwound-bass-guitar-strings-45-105-extra-long-scale
  10. I have the Notepad 5, in fact I think you recommended it ages ago after my Behringer 302USB started playing up. Been using it as my regular practice setup ever since, great little desk.
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134202310679?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11070.m3698.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=7eda38f8509448989eacfd39d10dd5ce&bu=43597808871&osub=-1~1&crd=20220906061839&segname=11070 Just got an alert that the seller has knocked £50 off this so must have clicked on it at some point, seems cheap for one of these and there's not many options for headless short scales. Collection only in Cannock though.
  12. I've always liked Roto 88 black nylons on mine and they've been on there for well over 10 years. I had Galli black nylon tape wound on there as well which were fantastic, I don't think they have a UK supplier though so you're probably looking at £80, they do last forever so cheap in the long run. With acoustic bass you're best playing to its strengths and black nylons do that very well IMO, if you like thump (and also no frets!) they are well worth a look.
  13. The reason we chose the 18 is we wanted 5 separate monitor mixes and also every input is XLR which means we only need to have one type of cable. Although that last part sounds trivial it invalidates the "I don't know what cables go where" excuse from band members who want other people to do all the work.
  14. Realistically a decent sized tablet for the main mix, I use an old Toshiba Portege Z20t convertible laptop but the software runs on pretty much anything. Band members use the simplified phone app to tweak their individual monitor mix but I use a 9" Windows tablet, I have this on a mic stand clamp attached to my bass stand so it's always within easy reach but not in the way. If you want to use it wirelessly you will need a 5Ghz router though so maybe the Soundcraft Ui or RCF digital desks would be a better bet. Making adjustments is easy, once you get over the initial learning curve there's so many useful features that it makes life a lot easier. Loads of handy presets for compresson settings and HPF on inputs, stuff like that. Put it this way - I don't really know what I'm doing and it was easy to get a good sound!
  15. Why not just go for the Behringer X series digital desks, the XR18 has 6 monitor sends and a separate aux out? We have ours in a 3u shallow rack alongside a router, power strip and bluetooth adapter (for wireless aux out) and it's very compact, however on it's own it's just 31 x 13 x 15cm - absolutely tiny.
  16. Powered PA cab with a small (2 main input and aux in) mixer is the way forward here. What sort of volume do you need?
  17. Tons of videos on YouTube, some guitar specific ones though:
  18. Realistically you can do all your bass related soldering with the cheapest iron on eBay/AliExpress, the TS100 is a great budget iron that will do you for just everything though, well beyond basic pots/jacks. I've done some board repairs with mine so it's paid for itself a few times over. Passive bass looms are about as basic as soldering gets so there's no need to pay anybody to do it for you.
  19. Are the routs on the CMI big enough to take regular Jazz pickups? You can buy a TS100 and a power supply for around £50, can make your own loom up very easily. No need to buy premade.
  20. Mine has been the same for a few days now, as soon as the Evri courier picked it up from the drop off point it went to the "There was an issue while in transit" status. Evri are just generally rubbish and it's pot luck if you get a good driver, for a while we had a woman delivering here who was great but now we just get parcels left on the doorstep in full view.
  21. I've also had a payout with Interparcel over a damaged speaker which was quite straightforward. Another time I had to contact their CS for an undelivered parcel as the UPS driver was trying to deliver well outside contracted hours (7pm - 9pm on three occaisions) and although initially the CS was useless once I got through to a higher up (which was straight after I requested it) everything was sorted immediately.
  22. The seller might be copypasting what the eBay tracking says, I've got an item being delivered (well, hopefully) by Evri/Hermes and I get this when I try and track it via eBay: "There was an issue whilst your package was in transit. We'll update you as soon as more info is available. Deliveries may take longer than usual due to Royal Mail industrial action."
