  1. Yeah tbh every member of staff I've spoken to either via phone or online has been very good. The person I spoke to on the phone had a scouse accent and the number was the Liverpool warehouse. In other news the cavity cover has arrived (albeit with 3 black and one silver screw) and has been installed.
  2. Of course! Address on the invoice is the Liverpool store.
  3. It's Jordan I'm dealing with via email so seems like they're very helpful across the board. The missing cavity cover is arriving today via DPD so good news on that front. Had some more time with this bass last night and the low B is monstrous.
  4. That's half of the ballache really, not only do you have the disappointment of the thing you purchased not being as described but the hassle of returning it as well which doesn't always go smoothly. I bought a B stock cheap bass from Thomann not so long ago and had issues with both of the drop off points - the first refused to take the box and the second had an issue with the scanner. Doesn't sound much but it took up one of my lunch hours I'd rather have had to myself.
  5. Oh and I'm not particularly bothered about the thread, mods can close it if they like.
  6. Why on earth would I want to talk to you over pm about things I've aleady expressed zero interest in on this thread? Just stop posting on it if you have nothing on topic to say, everything you have said on here has been about provoking unwanted drama. Start your own thread for that nonsense.
  7. I'm gonna be honest I genuinely don't appreciate having people come on here and use terms like "not classy" in a derogatory manner, especially from a moderator who has nothing else to say regarding the actual issue in the thread. Been at work all day and had the added task of sorting this out with PMT so have been pretty clear about unwanted comments derailing the thread. If he can't leave it be then maybe moderate the moderator? I really CBA with it in all honestly, not what I come on here for.
  8. There does seem an oddly deliberate trend of sending out incorrectly described goods and offering some recompense if the buyer complains, not saying that's what's happened in this instance but I've heard it a few times aside from here. A mate bought a Blackstar mini stack from GAK (the little cream 5w versions) and they sent him the mkI instead of the new mkII, the difference being the mkII was switchable between 1w and 5w or something to that effect. Obviously it was cheaper than everywhere else because it was the old version and when he complained they gave him £20 store credit. When he checked a couple of weeks later the website still hadn't been changed.
  9. Yeah just get your drama somewhere else, this aint the thread for it.
  10. Depends how you define rudeness, coming on someone's thread and calling them classless is absolutely rude in my book. Either way the little old fella has been sent on his way now so its done with, no point raking up residential home drama 3 pages into a thread about something entirely different. RE this bass (and the Shavo head also mentioned) it'll just be head office asking each store to make an inventory of unsold stock and then their online presence listing it using stock photos, somewhere along the line there hasn't been enough communication but this is just something to expect when companies expand and the different stores/departments don't have the same level of cohesion as they once did. The guy I spoke to on the phone sounded genuinely disappointed something had gone out in that state. Missing an entire cavity cover is a new one on me though.
  11. Makes you wonder about the other items that have/had, there was a significant discount on one of the limited Stingrays IIRC. I think the conclusion so far is that PMT customer service is top notch however the team listing sale items is perhaps less dilligent, or more likely they're listing unsold items they haven't seen or had an accurate description of from the various stores across the country.
  12. I literally typed most of the opening post while I was waiting for PMT to answer the phone which took a while, I'd already uploaded the pics to my Google Drive prior to that in anticipation of having to send them, as I was at work I thought doing both at the same time would mean less catchup in my lunch hour. I honestly don't care if someone is a mod or not, it's your choice if you allow people to speak to you like that but personally I never have and never will. There's been tons of threads like this where the company's response gradually plays out over the course of the thread I don't recall any pecker waving in any of those so I'm not sure what the issue is here. Strange behaviour and a silly thing to say IMO. Anyway the bass works fine and is currently sporting a substitute cavity cover I knocked up, sounds great through in ears and will take it to practice it on Wednesday to hear it amplified.
  13. That's good to know thanks, I have 2 basses with mid freq controls and they both have centre detents.
  14. The price was definitely the deciding factor and they have offered further discount if I decide to keep it, they are going for more than that used at the moment. Loving the neck so far, like a sleeker version of a Warwick and much nicer than my old Ibby EDB505.
  15. Yeah I noticed it was an old bass which is why I thought it might have been used, all the straplocks/ramp/tools etc inside were sealed up, the bag is new and the bass till had it's thread for the hanging tag attached though so most likely an ex-demo that had got a few knocks along the way. There's a few other little bumps which are just depressions in the wood, not affecting the paint. I knew beforehand that these were ding-prone basses so fully expected it to have these withing a month, just not out of the box! The Cort B5 I had (the OPM one) marked up witin a week and ended up with a gouge where I usually rest my thumb. I remember you having one of these, did the mid freq have a centre detent or not? Btw just weighted it on the work scales - 3.15kg or 6.9 lb. Should be quite different to my 11.6lb Sire!
  16. Just to mention - this isn't a thread asking how to deal with a situation so no silly comments, drama or advice is needed, it's just a warning that items in the current PMT sale might not be as described as it looks like they're clearing old stock with little to no inspection so buyer beware and make sure you give everything a proper test when you get it.
  17. Little old fellas and their unsolicited advice eh, when will they learn that nobody cares?
  18. Anyway, disregarding unsolicited judgement/babbling and thread derailments, PMT have been replying to emails merely minutes after sending them so good news there and have also said they will look into getting a cavity cover so fingers crossed the bass is functional.
  19. I don't recall asking for your opinion. Also "not classy" FFS, what made you type that? 🤣
  20. PMT dealing with it quite well so far, if the bass is working ok I'll decide what to do with it from there. Apparently an old bass that had been knocking around a shop floor for a bit.
  21. I'm sorting it out with the shop and also posting about their responses on here in case they have other not as described items listed in the current sale that may catch people out. So far they seem to be dealing with it pretty well. It's the non multiscale version so the retail was around £1100 (still cheaper than elsewhere but prices on these fluctuate), a lot of the instruments in their Summer Sale (which this was part of) had several hundred knocked off so although it's a substantial discount it isn't unheard of. There's already been threads on the Musicman basses and Ashdown amps/cabs they've been selling off at huge discounts with limited stock - brand new Rootmaster 6x10 cab for £124 (usually £849) and the Shavo signature head for £314 (usually £825) for example. Half price or less on the Ashdown pedals as well. A few years ago I got a new Cort B5 via end of line clearance (before they brought the Markbass Lic preamps in) for £235 delivered, almost half the new price and it was rock solid with perfect build quality.
  22. The neck also has too much backbow so looks like someone's tried to adjust it, got impatient at the lack of instant movement (really stiff necks on these) and cranked it some more. Not even bothered about small dings and setup if they offer some cash back as I can fix these myself, just how on earth does a new bass with an RRP of over a grand get sent out with no cavity cover?
  23. Also has a headstock ding, didn't even check the neck at first https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Quolg9LaKpcDyqt5JbEgfCrOaUYsJ5Mx/view?usp=drivesdk
