  1. Anybody tried these roller designs? Can get 4 and 5 string versions: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004322893627.html?pdp_npi=2%40dis!USD!US %2458.00!%2458.00!!!!!%400b0a133316751727927826314ea071!12000028754074896!btf&_t=pvid%3A26e8e451-0d21-4148-9973-864d6c356d14&afTraceInfo=1005004322893627__pc__pcBridgePPC__xxxxxx__1675172793&spm=a2g0o.ppclist.product.mainProduct&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002962475457.html?pdp_npi=2%40dis!GBP!£83.10!£70.63!!!!!%400b0a133316751727967816423ea071!12000022982989718!btf&_t=pvid:662b283c-1fa2-4e32-a456-a5db1e783d04&afTraceInfo=1005002962475457__pc__pcBridgePPC__xxxxxx__1675172797&spm=a2g0o.ppclist.product.mainProduct
  2. If you search Ibanez MR5HS some turn up: https://www.meinlshop.de/en/ibanez/spare-parts/e-basses/bridge-tailpieces/ibanez-mono-rail-v-bridge-mr-5hs-black-for-ehb1000-ehb1005ms-2bbmr5hs-bfk https://musicopolix.com/cat/accesorios/lutheria/puentes-lutheria/158872-iba-mono-rail-v-bfk.html
  3. Love twoodfrd, get a little bit excited when a new video drops! This would look neat with the individual saddles recessed like the EHB series:
  4. I'm guessing some people will have a bench power supply of some sort.
  5. Been using a TS100 for ages and am very happy with it, definitely a nice change from old style cumbersome irons/stations which is handy if you want to work with smaller components. I've done mPCIe slots and Micro USB ports by hand with mine. Can be powered of a regular laptop power supply or you can get suitable ones for a few £ extra, I use mine with a variable voltage one. https://www.droneauthority.co.uk/products/miniware-portable-ts100-soldering-iron?currency=GBP&variant=36448668844104&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=17378604620&utm_content=&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8t2eBhDeARIsAAVEga0DgAalb730w_NZSnvHS9QZabRKoUBLWawX2Gbi2Y_c5QC9RWnsNjcaAjNPEALw_wcB You can also get a USB Type-C powered version called the TS80 which might be handy.
  6. Great result and a bit of a bargain in the end.
  7. It got relisted but instantly taken down, hopefully that bid was the seller getting a mate to get the ball rolling and nobody has actually ended up paying £350 for that.
  8. They're still making the cheaper (and also fretted) version of the bass I want so I guess they've found a price point where it's sustainable.
  9. Ha, sounds like Ibanez need to ditch the habit of making cool stuff then discontinuing it!
  10. One of those cracks looks to go a little deeper than the lacquer: Either way it's about £100 more than you need to spend on one of these and has cosmetic damage all over the headstock.
  11. DV247 have changed theirs to late March now so who knows, might be worth emailing Ibanez so you know what your options are. I'm currently waiting for a very specific discontinued bass to appear on the used market (also an Ibanez) for a non ridiculous price and it's a bit frustrating!
  12. Might be worth looking at 1.8" zif SSDs as well if you're opening up an iPod classic.
  13. Ahh this is rubbish, especially as you've been searching for one and can't just get a direct replacement or buy one elsewhere. Are Ibanez going to do another run of them or have they been quietly canned? As already said it's good that the finish came off in big chunks, hopefully Muziker will give you enough of an incentive to keep it.
  14. Just had a look at those G4M LPs, really nice. Up to £160 now like.
  15. Ah see I'm a sucker for spalted wood! Prefer the more subtle examples though rather than the 90% resin ones.
  16. The resin thing isn't a new idea (been used on furniture before guitar builders caught on) and is actually quite cool IMO, looks very striking if done properly. Execution on that RockBass is poor though and it's only been done to disguise the jack rout, who knows what else it's hiding.
  17. If you were going to do this to a Jack Casady then surely you'd pick the gold one?
  18. Is the bridge centred correctly?
  19. This one also has it, looks like an '04 same year and model as the one in the OP: Every other one I've seen (including my old single pickup 5er) had the regular Warwick style one with the access cover and model name.
  20. Seller knows it's some sort of Rockbass. Interstingly (actually not that interesting but whatever) some of the early Rockbass Streamers did come with that truss rod cover and were changed to the German style ones later so that's most likely not aftermarket.
  21. And the scrubbed off RockBass logo with the fake truss rod cover, it's intentional deception. I've asked the seller if it's a proper Warwick or a RockBass, will see what the reply is.
  22. I quite like the Marcus Miller ethos where he has some input into the design of the Sire basses and Markbass amps, ok it's basically selecting eq points but in both cases they've resulted in a better product I think. The basses were designed as a solid, low cost platform for students, not as his own personal signature model which is something I can get onboard with. Although somewhere I do have a signature Jimi Hendrix strap I bought for next to nothing in a rush as I needed a cheap strap, still look at it and think "why?"
  23. Ghost building is a real thing, I would be surprised if the signature production guitars (Fender etc, not posh brands) used by artists aren't outsourced or masterbuilt by an entirely different (and more costly) set of hands than the ones we scrubs can buy. If the late Ed Roman was telling even 5% of the truth (big stretch but bear with me!) then it's always been smoke and mirrors.
  24. There's a bid on it so I reported it as someone is gonna get stung here.
