@visogThere's an EHB1506MS on Facebook for £1100 https://www.facebook.com/groups/BassPlayersMarketUK/permalink/5851594744852105/?sale_post_id=5851594744852105

I think wax crayon would work as well, I used the furniture touch up kits (essentially the same thing) on a couple of basses and they worked wonders even with quite large/deep gouges. That's the problem with this type of soft finish on stained bodies - the bare wood looks really bad and knocks/dings are hard to avoid

For the price of a new Bart equipped bass (circa £800) you could get a used Nord version. A standard scale 1505 in the burst finish recently sold for £825 (seller was offering £800 to watchers though) and there's a 1505MS on there at the moment at £799 with no bids. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234719734332?epid=3047087185&hash=item36a662ea3c:g:e6YAAOSwqqJjOujR&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoH8iK1sNYhF0xIUpAFqGg1LpqNPCDP3KWSu%2BuD81%2B0TjDplacn7WtJ%2FY0RMxvZ544yqlo9DLzS4WgZKNulCi4DpFLNw0CsaZ5LZseYVmiR%2B15jYou7cdV6fivwRomFpxAkr%2BuDjdujQLsDefi1%2BLsCCHm9s8bUm8Wsa3JWforTpyjj15odSC%2BbpF6ydHVpnJfnxudU%2BtHpeGMJZ6h6cQ3DM%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR96KmPL2YA A few dings on there but the PLF colour is very easy to touch up with a blue Sharpie, made the little knocks on mine disappear in a few seconds. Looks like the seller has been careless when snipping the ends off new strings there which is something to watch out for.

The BTB multiscale 6er has the T1 pickups as well so there's videos out there which all sound great. I wish they'd do the other 1000x series with them, I'd buy one for a spare then!

Looks great that.

The Wal control cavity is extremely satisfying to look at:

Spent some time tonight playing through a mate's Gnome head with a Sire V7 2nd gen and a little Ashdwn Mi10. Sounded great and could barely tickle the volume knob. It gave a very good representation of the Sire tone through IEMs that I'm used to only through a conventional amp, moreso than my TC BH250 which is pretty impressive. Seems like it nails the clean + loud thing in a very inexpensive and tiny package.

It doesn’t have to be in English to be good, does it?

Some more: Love a bit of Ningen Isu as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JY89ZxVqEg -

Lovely little slice of French pop, my favourite version is this one. Used to play this for my daughter when she was little and she loved it: Love this band (88 Kasyo Junrei), top bass playing but most of their stuff is written in Japanese script so difficult to search for. Haven't got a clue what they're on about but it sounds great: -
My favourite comment was "The last person I want to see do Ian Brown songs on karaoke is Ian Brown."

A lot of them are quite low with semi reclined backrests, there's loads of different ones though. The good news is that fishermen are complete tarts and are constantly buying the latest models even though the ones they have are almost exactly the same so the used market is pretty healthy. Usually loads of carp chairs on Facebook and there should be something at every price point. This looks like it has a fully adjustable backrest, extending legs and no arm rests for £39: https://fishdeal.co.uk/t/fishing-chairs/ultimate-recliner-chair-green?gclid=CjwKCAjwhNWZBhB_EiwAPzlhNiy4UnXP9k-4n2_fz5vkjBHM0GdGqe6wJJ73j1MNUeFCqS2h1-IZDhoCji8QAvD_BwE

You can also get canal stool fishing platforms with adjustable backrests as well. https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/16413617/nufish-restabox-16413617

Try carp fishing chairs, usually fully adjustable and fold flat.

What is this?? Never seen before

It does kinda reming me of my first covers band, having a limited budget and this being a time before affordable, lightweight powered cabs we needed a rack unit to house our 3 beefy Peavey power amps and desk in. Our guitarist had just removed all his old kitchen cupboards and we ended up making our own out of the scrap wood, even had a nice angled top which the desk bolted into. Carpeted it in whatever was cheapest to acquire at the time and the fuzzy felt texture was similar to this, makes me cringe thinking back to when we turned up to play weddings with that thing. -

I have a cat, that green felt wouldn't last 5 minutes! -
Buff out wear on ebanol fingerboard?
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Repairs and Technical
Thanks, I did have a quick test with some buffing compound and a cloth which got good results, doesn't sound like mine is as bad as that, just some grey streaks and the odd bit of wear. -

Looks like a 100w combo head rehoused in a homemade shell: https://ampeg.com/support/files/Discontinued User Manuals/BA115T/BA115Ta.pdf £100 start bid a little optimistic IMO, you can get a new Warwick Gnome for not much more or a used 500w Hartke/Ashdown etc. -
That looks quite interesting, seems like the piezo has its own little buffer preamp on a separate board before hitting the preamp, looks like it has individual trim pots for each saddle too. Means you could swap the main preamp out easily if needed.
-
What preamp does it have? Will most likely be a variation on the old in house Cort preamp they put in their older piezo equipped basses which works really well, they used to slap a Fishman license on it.

Buff out wear on ebanol fingerboard?
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Repairs and Technical
I'm not sure lemon oil would do much to ebanol as it isn't wood, this thread mentioned car buffing compound: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/polishing-ebonol.955567/ The neck is the same as mine, a Mighty Mite unlined ebanol board with white marks from using roundwounds. I've decided to buy a new bridge and wire it up as a piezo free passive bass to sell as a complete instrument now so maybe a bit of player wear is less of an issue. -
Put Elixirs on my EHB1505, need a little 80hz boost but sound is really crisp and the highs are a lot smoother. My two most played basses are Ibanez now, the little Artwood parlour acoustic is my go to noodling bass and the EHB is no1 live. Considering getting a 1005 as my backup bass.

I had one, maple active '77. Loved the look of it (which was why I bought it) but hated the sound and overall playability, replaced it with a Warwick which knocked it out of the park and was about half the weight. Felt like it was made out of lead which was compounded by the fact they they only look good on a long strap so it's even worse on your shoulder.

Gambling is a weird one, right at the front of socially acceptable addictions so often flies under the radar but is no less destructive for all involved. A friend of my dad burned through his early retirement payout in a year, was in excess of £40k back in the mid to late 90s so not a small sum. All went on the horses. Combine that with someone who has no qualms about morally questionable behaviour and you end up with total disasters like this.
