  1. I used to use a VC3, superb preamps that are going up in price each time I look.
  2. Doubt it would be the same size as the regular Gnome, the 280w i Pro is larger than than the 200w model and that doesn't quite manage to be a true nano head for me. Would be nice if they could pull that off though.
  3. That looks poor IMO, really rough printing and the Future Compact projects in standard metal project boxes look much better. Also they've relocated the footswitches to the side which means you'll need to use MIDI switching live.
  4. Ibanez used to do some small fretless acoustic basses, sub 30" scale and reasonably priced.
  5. One on FB not too far from you, bit rough for £150 though. Could make an offer then flip the hard case to make it nearer a ton: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/953066981945630/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A3f7e3325-7518-4b30-9525-c8be098347ba
  6. You've just described every Level 42 album.
  7. There's something cool about those old 80s Arias, definitely of their time. I was given a load of old guitar mags when a music shop closed down and there was loads of cheesy adverts with badly dressed pseudo metal players holding Aria Cats and Night Warriors. EDIT: Like these dudes!
  8. Should have used the neck from one of these:
  9. Is it the IGB 68/5 that was on eBay? I was casually watching that, had been relisted a few times so was hoping the seller would drop the price! They're decent basses, my local music shop had one in back in the day for around £450 and I had the passive 4 string version (IGB 55) a few years ago.
  10. These seem to go on sale once a year for half price, they're usually around £100 but down to £50. I picked one up a few years ago and it's a great lightweight but sturdy bag for a nice price, basically the same as their Transit bag: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Gator-Pro-Go-X-Series-Gig-Bag-for-Bass-Guitars/2SSL
  11. Ibanez used value always tanks a fair bit as well, your only other sub £200 options are off brand stuff, the odd Shine and the Harley Benton (which is super cheap) so this is probably a great deal for someone wanting a cheap 6er.
  12. The £160 it reached is probably about right for a £300 Ibanez marked as collection only. The seller listed it last month and it only reached £104. It had sold for £185 but was relisted as the buyer rightly assumed it included free postage.
  13. A 5 string Korean Legend sold on eBay near me for £103 the other week, had to stop myself from buying it just because it was cheap.
  14. I thought that but when you compare it to one the only similarity is the F holes really, did remind me of one though. The horn shapes and. err. rear end protrusion are more like a Ken Smith BSR to my eyes. Shame Tanglewood never did that one in fretless and kept the entire Warrior line to 4 strings only IIRC.
  15. Depends how much you want to spend and what size (if any) hole you want to make in the sides. Easiest way would be to use something like a Headway HE5, not the cheapest but does the job with minimal modifications: https://www.headwaymusicaudio.com/product/he4-ab-feq-acoustic-bass-baritone-guitar/
  16. Tanglewood Warriors have been going down in price over the years, seen a few go for sub £100. The Warrior I is a Warwick Corvette clone with JJ pickups and the Warrior II is a Thumb clone with a single MM pickup. The Warrior 3 is the most interesting as it has an original shape and f-holes: One went for £80 last month, normal price is £120 - £200: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tanglewood-Warrior-3-FH-Bass-Guitar-Transluscent-Green-Relist-due-to-timewaster-/185125600048?hash=item2b1a587b30%3Ag%3ANhgAAOSwkEdhXFcO&nma=true&si=xcdkfYLg3Jf2in%2FQSCIic1WvPj4%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. Crikey that's amazing! Just out of interest how much did you sell that 5er for?
  18. When I had to move to 5 strings I had a new baby and had just moved house so money was tight, I bought an Ibanez EDB555 but didn't get on with it so bought that Cort and a £60 Shine 5er (actually a fancy amber quilt thing, looked pretty sweet) as backup. Was playing weddings with two basses totalling £150 and nobody was any the wiser!
  19. Another cheapy worth grabbing is the old Korean Cort C4p, they have a Fishman piezo bridge and really tight build quality despite looking rather plain. I picked one up for £90 and still use it as my backup bass, albeit with a regular bridge due to the original preamp failing. Last one I saw on eBay went for under £200.
  20. That Uberhorn is the best looking bass on this forum! The HKs were made in Korea and sold by a German importer, the original company is still making basses but unfortunately no longer that particular model. There were a few of the Marleaux copies on eBay many years back then they disappeared, this is the original builder (KHL): http://wolfguitars3.com
  21. Yeah I regret not buying the one near me, I had a quick play of it and it felt great. From what I can gather there's a lot of variation in the tops. The HK Custom basses from Germany had a similar vibe to those Vintage ones, wish I'd have grabbed one when they were floating around on eBay for £350, basically a straight ripoff of a Marleaux Consat!:
  22. Vintage V1004SP and V1004DX (replace the 4 with a 5 for the 5er obviously) great basses with through necks and spalted or greatly figured tops which vary a fair bit between examples. Was a stunning 5er in my local Money Traders a few years ago for £250, the top looked like it belonged on a £2k bass it was so striking, like a Marleux for paper round money. A 4 and a 5 on eBay at the moment for low money, tops are nice but not amazing though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324941670573?hash=item4ba80868ad:g:mXAAAOSwll5hudQP https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334242615066?hash=item4dd2698f1a:g:pyQAAOSwvhthq5t1
  23. Part of the problem with this bass is that as far as Wals go this isn't a particularly nice looking example. Also if you're asking for £7k+ then why wouldn't you run a cloth over it to get rid of dust before taking the pictures?
