  1. I have a preamp from an old Cort Hohner I can stick in the post, the one with the LED and trim pot.
  2. I don't even know what it does!
  3. TC BQ250 is £99 as well: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-Thrust-BQ250-Bass-Head/2M36
  4. That's a bargain. 1002 is the same price and the 502 is £35 as well: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-XENYX-Q1002USB-Premium-10-Input-2-Bus-Mixer/L8M?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mttdXVEYlZdYq1UN7WjEQjVNFg2xOxTTOZF3jXyJ62TsE3a-ZFycqnBoC1BAQAvD_BwE https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-XENYX-Q502USB-USB-Mixer/IPI?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtt2J6wP3Y6TDZfvfMxw9THy1djEtUH64LfcuPQGxie1btAjGomMwYhoCPwwQAvD_BwE
  5. I use a small USB mixing desk, ideal for home practice. Takes aux in from a computer over the USB cable and also functions as an audio interface, also it's a small mixing desk (obviously!) so can do all the things a small mixing desk can do on top of that. I use a Soundcraft Notepad 5 but you can pick the Behringer Xenys USB models up pretty cheaply used, like the price of a pack of strings cheap. A pair of KZ ZS10 in ears will set you back around £25 on top of that and are decent sounding bass IEMs.
  6. If you contact the builder they'll most likely make you one. Still not saying it's a good idea like!
  7. It's an AliExpress fake so buy it with the idea that you'll definitely get a nice wallhanger, might get something half decent and if you're lucky you could get a good guitar after a pickup swap. A pal of mine has just received a Chibson Slash AFD, looks the absolute nuts if you're into LPs but the fingerboard wasn't radiused properly before fretting so there's a slight hump between frets 7-9. Despite the overall finish being very good (and better than some recent USA Gibsons) they've also managed to mount the neck and hardware slightly off the centre line which is a pretty common thing. Not worth sorting (was £230 after a partial refund), it's a fun novelty guitar that plays ok with a bit of buzz and looks cool on his wall. If that Dan Armstrong copy was closer to £200 it might be worth a punt for a bit of fun.
  8. Was quite fun seeing everybody tinkering around with their SR basses back then, some really cool stuff like the one with the veneer and gold leaf.
  9. Most of his feedback is from buying, there's only 4 from selling guitars this year. I think a lot of his customers (especially the 7/8/12 string conversions) are older beginners who are happy with the price they paid as they think they're getting something that will cater for the initial clumsiness that comes with learning, which to a point they might be. IIRC there was one of his creations for sale on Crack Converters posted on here a while ago which was struggling to sell at something like £60 so I guess when the buyers decide they'd like to move the instrument on they might be less impressed with what its true value is. That's part of the reason I don't like the car salesman vibe about his listings really, they rely on people not knowing much about guitars and unknowingly taking a future financial hit.
  10. A Load/ReLoad single album with the fat trimmed off would have been great back in the day, although I quite liked Load as an album in its own right. Still think that era is the best they've ever sounded in the studio and live.
  11. Double post.
  12. They went from £120, then briefly to £90 then got cleared out at £60 which is when most people on here bought them. I paid £60 for the P and £25 for the Strat which appeared in the window of my local SR a fair bit after the BC gold rush had occurred! Cycled past it on my way to work, went to the cash point and was there waiting when the shop opened at 9am, thankfully my boss understood that a £25 Strat can't be missed and let me come in a bit late.
  13. There's been a bit of St Anger revisionism knocking around the darker corners of internet comments sections, folk saying after multiple listens they "get it" like they've been listening to Atom Heart Mother or something. Seen that opinion expressed a few times, baffling stuff.
  14. Well he's not quite turned 60 yet so maybe future songs will feature angry lyrics about bathroom issues? Probably best approaching their next album with considerable trepi-day-shown.
  15. Worth adding that I'm not expecting them to come out with anything amazing or even half decent as the genre they play in moved on decades ago, great that they're still out there doing it though. Can think of worse ways to spend your late 50s / early 60s.
  16. Pressed stop after the 37th consecutive line ended with "ay-shon".
  17. Also not all of the cores will be performance cores, they will operate like ARM big/little with some cores designed for efficiency so that might not be the best metric to judge them by.
  18. If you want higher base clock speeds then avoid CPUs with a U/UL suffix, they're the low voltage variants and are designed to conserve battery life, they will still boost and maintain a high clock though. A CPU with a G or H in the name will have a more familiar base clock, an i5-12600H or something like that. Most full size laptops should have two M.2 PCIe bays, it's surprising how seldom this is mentioned in the spec though. One of the reasons I picked mine is because it had two nvme slots and one 2.5" sata.
  19. Weird things are afoot, I think the universe has a deep desire for me to own this bass. Just had a seller offer of £239 (should really stop clicking on the listing) and funnily enough I also have the CYBER10 code which makes this bass £234.90. Another thing - why does his ParcelForce48 service cost £18.50 when you can send a full size/weight bass box using that service for £8 drop off or £9.35 collected?
  20. If you just want to use the iPad to play mp3 through the amp you can buy 3.5mm bluetooth receivers on eBay for about £3, either USB powered or rechargeable. I use these two, the rechargeable connected to my amp at home and the USB one in our PA rack: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284220561840?hash=item422cdd99b0:g:rGUAAOSwpTFgRxeA&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4BS56SnzyRFN2ksTb8CwDiN1tZSC7PgCvkVXeF5A%2BL3QnB4%2FxlEbaVkW14gOtd%2FTIj7CMUhgFky537%2BSyMLe14gAZ7RRGQB%2BQz4gxYQU%2FJAemNr0TjSvj2aJw4Rhy51rr%2FVyRn34ZiuNlTUXouOnYpFkOTdj5l%2B13EKkiMJg5S%2BnAtQ8UwYN1GWEvJNqebhpK606nfE9g8T%2BAXV63GSp6Qx5uKNjZUL%2F6bI1b2UGFzBMRFfFqXIyjcyW4gStFKrjCUikZdVmfUS6Wxz7A49k1lUBjX%2BKdHchHUhwuNMvPc%2Bk|tkp%3ABk9SR-aE_N-XYQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175449557039?hash=item28d99bc82f:g:afoAAOSwALZjSU5I&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoMCqIJ30OQHT81hAiykLEa%2BigAMDLH%2B6OYZMf78dV51%2FG%2BSwM%2FtZ1HamiyYRG3LWf8vWAuWcrLeU5eP2jPQcvolCXDypHpvChtD9YOhsyadVvQYrZfek0%2BXzH6FGpZhtBMAFEWJmzLufSNlxUo5K0ii64AK9Im6vLXzVe6pNk%2BCUaG0o8aX3jCFayjn4vWxYIWn2zY8dI4h0I7L9CIRsGVU%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-aE_N-XYQ
  21. Well I never said it was a good deal! If I wanted a Corvette again (and I think I might, loved my old one) I'd just get a used German one for around £500. Warwick pricing is weird but they do seem to sell basses and have distinctive designs. Lower horn looks like a marital aid, upper horn looks like it's about to be twisted into a balloon animal.
  22. The 4 string is in this Black Friday sale! https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/modern-bass-guitars/warwick-gps-streamette-4-string-bass-limited-edition-2022 5 string still $3.5k, like the top on this one:
  23. There's a CV Squier in Surf Green on FB Marketplace right now for the same price, seller offering free delivery.
  24. Sold my P bass as I don't like P basses and bought it on a whim, kept hold of the Strat (spotted for £25 in the shop window) for a bit longer but eventually flogged it as I never play guitar. A mate of mine kept his tele and plays it regularly, nice little guitar after a setup and new strings, his brother does his setups so he hasn't spent much extra on it! The basses had okayish pickups, I put an old EMG Select in mine and it was decent, the Strat soundedmore than good enough stock.
