  1. New endorsement deal incoming for Mr Clayton? https://www.thomann.de/gb/cuntz_guitars.html
  2. Except lots of species show sexual dimorphism in the opposite way where females are far bigger, stronger and more aggressive, off the top of my head birds of prey, hyenas and a lot of amphibians. Please don't listen to Peterson when he talks about biological science, he knows even less about that than he knows about women and uses it entirely to prop up his religious beliefs around specific roles of men, nothing more. It isn't the insightful observation you seem to think it is. Quite what this has to do with the trait of persistently using terms associated with weakness to describe women when we as conscious beings are perfectly capable of not doing that is beyond me, to say we are hardwired and incapable of change is to ignore the last century of history.
  3. Which inately programmed behaviours are you talking about, particularly ones that are millions of years old?
  4. Peterson is absolutely on topic given the thread is about misogyny, fake outrage tactics and the ensuing "hurr durr why is everybody a snowflake except me" attitudes that stem from that. In fact in recent years he's probably done more to stoke the flames than anybody.
  5. Interesting that his name crops up in threads like this though as the base of a lot of his pseudo philosophies is rooted in his pre-existing religious misogyny. A lot of the time he dresses them up by shoehorning actual genuine philosophical works in there and tries to align them with his own babbling. I saw one debate where he tried to dress up his masculine=order=good / feminine=chaos=evil nonsense with an elongated ramble about quantum physics (which he clearly doesn't understand), people were buying it too. I guess as long as there are thickos there will be grifters there to take advantage of them.
  6. What's your budget? Some nice tiny amps out there like the Markbass 801, PJB Double Four & M7 and the Trace Elf 1x10 combo. Could always have a look at the little 6" house jam cab build on here and pair it with a nano head like a TC Bam or Warwick Gnome.
  7. All of this is absolutely spot on.
  8. Are people still following that absolute chud Jordan Peterson? Thought the king of the incels got found out years ago.
  9. Click on clickbait, get offended at clickbait, write on a forum about clickbait. Guess there has to be something in the lull between Poppygeddon and the "they're offended by christmas" fury. As said above, this is manufactured outrage.
  10. Bargain this, these usually get snapped up quickly so dunno why this is still here.
  11. A pal of mine had the guitar version of this, he got it cheap when a music shop was closing down and offloading stock. Rather predictably that was one of the few guitars left after the place had been gutted! Unfortunately it was a bit sheeeeiiiiite and not nice to look at either.
  12. It's an 8ohm driver wired straight to a speakon at the moment, would just like the option of adding another cab at some point. Impedance isn't an issue, just wanted to know if my idea of how to wire it is correct!
  13. I'd like to add a speaker out to my EA CXL110 cab, it's had the original driver and crossover removed and now just has s simple backplate with a Speakon wired directly to a Basslite. In order to wire up an additional Speakon I take it I'd just connect it to the existing one minus to minus, plus to plus or is there more to it? I'm a bit thick when it comes to things like this so always check here first!
  14. I still have my old Zoot Deluxe Custom, kept hold of it although I don't gig 4 strings any more and the preamp (an OPB3) no longer works. Keep meaning to dig it out and get it sorted as it's my joint favourite bass shape!
  15. Ah the old "hit with a chisel than colour it in with a Sharpie" relic technique, only the most masterful luthiers are capable of such work.
  16. The regular Zoot custom model and the Boudica are really cool body shapes IMO.
  17. I still use my TC BH250 as a rehearsal head, don't think it's been over 1/3 of the way up more than a couple of times. Would have killed for that sort of price/power/size combination when I was young and getting a bus to practice/gigs!
  18. Nice one thanks, will pass the information on. My mate has just bought the regular 200w Gnome and is after a small cab for home use so looks like that would be ideal for him.
  19. Think my mate is after the cab which is why I was looking so nobody else buy it! Seeing as you're the man to ask - how bad is the dent in the top of the cab? Andertons mentions it but no pic.
  20. Was cab shopping for a mate and spotted a used Ashdown CTM15 at Andertons for £199, no idea if that's cheap or not. Andertons second hand pricing is usually ok though. https://www.andertons.co.uk/second-hand/sh-ashdown-ctm-15-bass-head-w-bag-t%3Bch
  21. If I had an amp that cost me 3 x £200 in repairs I would use a different amp or a different repair shop.
  22. Ashdown CTM15 is probably your best bet, overpowered and oversized for what you're after though: https://ashdownmusic.com/products/ctm-15 Maybe try and find an old Hughes & Kettner Bass Master / BATT? http://hughesandkettnermicroamps.weebly.com/batt--bass-master.html
  23. Smallest bass valve amp would be the Ampeg PF20t wouldn't it? Not exactly mini though.
  24. This, the pickups (and preamp) are budget units and definitely of their time. Cort like paying for a license to slap a brand name on in house parts and the electronics are the weak point. You don't need to spend much either, I replaced the Selects in my Hohner with Duncan Designed J units and they sound much better, I quite liked the Select P pickup I had though.
  25. Never really had a problem with modern solder, I use the 60/40 stuff off eBay as mentioned above.
