That was one of the things I always found really jarring with his basses, how long would it have taken him to make a template or even just to measure them properly? I know you're meant to finish them yourself which is fine but having wonky holes makes getting a good looking bass near impossible no matter what you do to it. I would add that I do like some Wishbasses and think the ethos behind them is sound (ie you and the fella both kinda make a bass in two separate stages) but this one? Bleurgh!

Let us know how you get on with the BAM200, was looking at that recently but the lack of a Speakon socket put me off. Bax have it for £105 which is nuts, tempting to just pick one up for the sake of it!
-
As well it should being essentially a Squier Classic Vibe!

I get the feeling that IEMs would be far more beneficial than you realise, those small stages where everything is a compromise become the same as any other gig. I do a wide range of gigs and the biggest difference for me is on small stages, certainly those ones where you are crammed in a corner next to an obnoxiously loud drummer.

Small valve amps. Caution; guitar related content

Friend of mine recently picked up a Blackstar HT5RH Blonde amp setup from Guitar Guitar, sold out now but it was £299: https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/191122351430008--blackstar-ht-5rh-blonde-package-with-1x12-cabinet?fbclid=IwAR0ArX4hyydWmAtKlVjptKmYbZJfYFr6juAuEBj6aCApH2x0-PTBot62QMU They do it in a combo version too, a step up from the HT1 for not much more money (difference was £30 when he bought it). He absolutely loves it and says it's the nicest amp he's had for home use (he doesn't gig at the moment) and also has the advantage of looking pretty neat so no complaints from the wife. The one GG were selling is the MkI and contrary to the description it doesn't have the 0.5w/5w switch. -
We also do some pubs and also larger venues, use the same setup in each one. We don't have any amps on stage now which is great for pubs due to the unpredictable nature of the stage (ie they've partially cleared some tables) - no more struggling for space and having to position your backline in a less than optimal place. I don't think there's many bands around here that gig without subs now, at least those at venues which pay decently anyway, in fact it's probably more likely you'll see a band with no amps than one with no sub(s). When I first started gigging setting up a full PA involved big heavy speakers, a huge rack with 3 power amps in, a separate crossover which was a PITA to configure, analog desk with limited monitor outputs and several miles of cables. That's before we get to vocal monitors and backline. Now we have a single cable run to each sub and two short cables from subs to tops, crossover is built into the subs so no worries. We plug our sends and IEM returns into stage snakes. It's the easiest and quickest setup I've ever had tbh and also the best sounding, didn't cost a fortune either.

This is pretty much my FRFR rig - bass into Fishman into QSC. Such a neat little setup as the Fishman is such a handy little tool, I managed to ditch a pedalboard and an amp when I bought mine!
-
Same, usually I can't stand blue or red basses but every now and then I see a nice burst or stained finish and make an exception.
-
Yeah that's a cheapy, think Karl is right with Benson. The burst looks pretty naff to me, if you wanted a quality bass with that finish then Mighty Mite do a much nicer version which will be better quality. On sale now too! https://www.byoguitar.com/Guitars/Mighty-Mite-Fender-Replacement-P-Bass-Body__MM2702AF.aspx

Serious contender for the world's worst guitar
lemmywinks replied to TheGreek's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
The more I look at it the funnier it gets, there's literally nothing good about it! Don't know if those banjo tuners are worth anything but aside from those it's firewood. £95 posted too, you can buy a proper one for that. -
Does it have a map of the Pennines on the top so you can plan your Sunday hiking during the quieter numbers?

But he has 100% feedback so it must be great and not a total ripoff, right? -
True, it appears it's already taken by a much more successful drummer too: https://rikkistyxxdrums.com Very awkward indeed.

Black Friday Deals has started. Give your heads up

Yeah they're the recommended first in ear on this forum! Can handle a lot of low end, I use them live now but I bought a second set for my little mixer at home. They do come with different rubber bits, I use the largest ones (I'm 6'6" with proportionately large ears!) and they're fine. I think the generic rubber ear inserts you can get fit too. -

KZ Official Store on AliExpress have the ZS10 at £22 delivered if anybody was wanting in ears or just some earphones which sound great for silent bass practice: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32859161944.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.7b573c00ceAOCn&mp=1 Ordered a second set to use at home when learning songs. -
Mine is the dedicated bass version and it's actually pretty loud and clear for what it is, I'm running it into an little EA CXL110 with a Basslite in, I was really surprised when I first plugged it in! Assumed these would just have the same guts with a different EQ section but perhaps not. Thinking of buying a cheap "proper" amp like a TC RH250 or something in the not too distant future.

Gah they had the Sire M2 I've been looking at but 4 string only, someone got a great bass for £200.
