So basically, that's the story of me getting a Stingray for £250 .
Aye and its a good one at that. I love the ray and the jazz, seams to be a popular combo of basses. -
3 and a half inch wide piece of leather cut to just over length then folded back glued and then straplocked for stability. simple but effective jus like moi

I use 2mm dunlop big stubbys preferably or dunlop tortex/ultex 1.14 mm ones. for the type of stuff i play i find heavier plectrums help to make sure i'm hitting the right notes at the right time

Its nothing realy, I got the nickname in magaluf in 2001 when i got totaly hammered during happy hour at one pub and was calling everyone (barman, friends, nice ladies ) Pablo. while we were on our way back to our hotel i was running up the beach in my boxers shouting "hoi pablo am gonnae get ye!" according to my friends who found it most funny. luckily there is no photographic evidence that i know about

I'm on the look out for a new rig, and was wandering if there are any good lightweight heads out there and the costs. I should have about £500 to spend in the nxt month or so. one thing that i'd be looking for is something that is easily portable as i'll be using it to record with as well ( i travel down to london frequently to record), otherwise hit me with any recomendations folks

I used to have an old solid state marshall from the 80's i think it was a 3530 300w monster and i used it with one of the new vbc 4x12 cabs and i got a great sound from it (6 band eq + presence helped) loads of big bottom end and clarity with my old jazz bass but not so much with my old epi tbird. I only sold it due to my old band splitting up and the fact it weighed a ton, absolutely no complaints on the tone front or reliability either.

in my old band we played a fair few gigs in pubs since the smoking ban came about, and to be honest i think that the crowd sizes remained fairly consistant although at one pub we played in edinburgh there was at one point as many people watching/listening from the street as there was in the pub itself.
