  1. So the Neck was born on my birthday and the actual bass was completed on my daughters birthday! Top That!
  2. Turns out the bass was born on my birthday... Its an omen!!!!!
  3. Went with this one as it has the thicker body which i was looking for.
  4. @thebassist Secondhand, I am no Tim Commerford! **awaiting feedback from wife and bank manager..!
  5. I bought this; Just awaiting delivery...... Replacing my OLP
  6. Bought a Stingray HH secondhand.....!
  7. Hi All, I have a pretty nice decision to make....I am very luck to be able to say that it is bonus time! My Old bass: OLP MM fitted with; SD SM4B pickup, Badass bridge and Stinger preamp. I would like something new and shiny for gigging. I am not a big fan of taking out expensive or nickable kit and only have 1 cab, 1 amp and 1 bass, I am a simple soul.... Initial ideas; MM Stingray below £1k - There are a couple about and it replaces my OLP MM HH Stingray £1.5k - Bit of an upgrade but £1.5k is my max Fender Flea Active £1.5k - Bit of a change, but the neck looks weirdly long.... Build something - Body - £260, Neck - £250 (or ~£400 for a Status neck), Hardware - £150 - TBH, I will buy the parts and probably get someone else to build it - essentially a Flea Active Jazz with a shorted neck and a stingray preamp Something Jazz Bassy....but with a thick neck I like simplicity and I like the Stingray sound. The build I already have quotes for a body (basically a JB with an MM pickup). Not really sure what to do TBH. My other thought was to go back to a JB with a precision neck - Does anyone make these as a stock item?
  8. A very happy new year dude! **i am trapped in a sofa pile of wife, children and the dog!
  9. Yeah, I read the thread thanks. seems a bit hit and miss to get an officially thick stingray..... I have enquired about a body build for the spare neck I have.....!
  10. The only thing that annoys me aboit MM Stingray basses.... The body thickness. It is purely asthetic from my pov and completely vain! is there a stingray out there with a 44/45mm body?
  11. No worries - it has given me a mini Xmas project!
  12. There would be no rock music without slovenliness and anger....
  13. I'll start; Yacht (one of those nice large wooden, yet sleek, Caribbean sailing yachts) Malibu beach house with a selection of Yater longboard surfboards and paddleboards Big Truck with a montrous engine that is an affront to the environment (Like a Ford F150 or Dodge RAM something or other) My own studio - well equipped with a vintage desk, probably Neve. MM Stingray 2H Aqua Sparkle with maple board Vintage MM Sabre/Cutlass and Stingrays - 1 of each would be just dandy Status Vintage GP (with a few custom options) - MM pickup at the bridge A Vintage Fender J and P - Early 60's vibe Few Vintage Fender Strats/Teles and Cabronitas and amps (Miss my Prosonic, but love my 5f2) (Barocha?!) Would like some lightweight 112's like SWR Golight 112 Couple of nice mountain bikes (Pace or Orange) New macbook pro 13 - topspec. This is on top of what we currently have + my family remaining healthy and well and my job not being screwed by Brexit.....
  14. For me; Decent headphones - my neighbour has expressed displeasure at my bass playing and I don't want to engage with anyone on my London commute.... For Mrs GPW5150; A new watch and a coffee pod stand...**She lost an Omega Seamaster that I gave her many years ago and I am getting sick of used coffee pods/boxes all over the place For Junior #1; Rollerblades, Magic kit, Nintendo DS game and some other stuff For Junior #2; No idea! Probably pink and fluffy... Family; Either an air hockey table or a Nintendo Switch.....
  15. Purchased a VT Bass 500 amp. Arrived in perfect boxed condition as described and in a very timely manner - great comms Great guy to deal with - Thank you!
  16. Just going through the threads search.....but do you know/have you seen a thread where this works in a boogie sized tl806 designed for the evm12l? I have a spare!
  17. Well y’know - just tiny gigs or when i have no option but to tke our mini cooper. 4x8 is a good call though! Could i get deeper bass with a 4x8 vs 2 larger sized 2x8’s - in theory?
  18. The amp will do down to 2 ohms. I figured that i can build 2 larger 2x8’s and split them for gigging... if anyone has a pre designed/planned cab - please shout me!
  19. I have 4 x 4 ohm 8” speakers at home, unused. FaitalPro 8fe-200 do I; 1, build 2 x 2x8 cabs 2, Sell them! my head says build 2 small cabs for home/messing. But, nit having a workshop or woodwork gear means I will have to outsource the designed cab build - anyone know anyone who could do this?
  20. It is a lovely looking bass and I nice take on the MM classic, for the money i would want a lane poor pickup and a badass bridge though. I would probably buy an MM cutlass (save a bit more!) or Black stingray in all honesty for that money though. @walshy is your bass home made? It looks fantastic!
