1. Very cool indeed, I really must practice more so I can break my duck with the DB aswell. Bit of a way off but am determined to do it!! Well done

  3.
And another one here exactly the same setup switched from an early UK era Ashdown ABM 300 rig and would never ever go back! And fits your budget to a tee if you go down the Bassdirect offer route I think its about £1299 including the man bag for the head.
I got a great deal from Darren at Bass Merchant for my GB combo. So would recommend both them and Mark/Bass Direct.
  4. I got mine from Hot Covers, they were excellent and the product and delivery were spot on. Would recommend! Edit.....haha Walbassist beat me to it..!

  8.
I recently switched from Mark Bass to Genz Benz Uber410/Shuttle 9.0, and I`m very happy with that rig. The Genz stuff seems to be of very hight quality and sound is wonderful too.
+1 have swapped all of my TE gear to Genz Benz, shuttle 6 max plus Neox 212T, have not regretted it for one little bit and this stuff is so lightweight.

  12. Mosley violins in mosley, yes really, are excellent. Rebuild my db from a pile of broken wood and some strings, highly recommend them.
  13. Quite straight forward IMO. Any shared eqpt everyone has equal dibs. If I choose to leave the band, I forgo my share. If I'm fired, I'm paid my share less depreciation. Did this when I left my old band, didn't think it was right for the band to pay me, when it was totally my choice to leave. If you get an agreement in place before spending it should be really straight forward.
  14.
Thanks for all the replies - still a little unclear on one point. If a "cabinet" is rated at 125 watts, does this mean that all speakers inside that cabinet are rated at 125 watts or again is there a division process? (In half a mind to build a cab myself - so need to know what speakers to order if and when the glorious day ever came)
Generally realtes to the total power output, ie a 4x10 320w cab would have each speaker rated at about 80w
  15.
just because it's cheap, is a risky game.
only if you can't afford it
  16. I agree. I've had problems selling amps/cabs (admittedly heavy weight stuff) in addition a T-Bird and a Fender Precision. The cabs etc went for a price a lot lower than I expected and didn't shift on here at all, only on eBay where I'm still paying the fees I'm also surprised when people selling stuff seem to make their life hard by keep on changing their minds etc. It has been an uphill struggle this year IMO. Still thankfully I've nothing else substantial to sell so I can sit tight until things pick up a bit.
  17. I rather stupidly had my Mex Jazz defretted when I took my venture into the fretless world. Didn't last long it has to be said. I'm consdiering havig it refretted, plus the neck will need redressing I guess. As an alternative does anyone have an idea how much a genuine Mexican Fender Neck would cost? It may be more cost effective to go down that route rather than have a refret etc??
  18. Spend a day visiting Mark at Bass Direct in Warwick, sure he can sort you out one way or t'other
  19.
BUMP for my bass Lots of interest so far but no takers.
Hey OHM, I'm a bit confused/thick, is the bass for sale the original Mike Dirnt, or if it's been moded what has been changed??? Cheers F61

I only had some brief dealings with Si, while he was trying to help find a dep for some people he knew in Cardiff. He was trying as hard as he could for no real gain for himself, guess that summed the guy up, selfless. This is truely sad and I guess this place won't be the same again. Take care everyone.
  21. JP bought my Natural T-bird from me. The sale was easy, and the communication was spot on, he made it clear what he could do and when he could do it and stuck to it. Although he's new on here, I have no hesitation in recommending him to deal with. Don't forget I've got first dibs on that bass should you ever decide to sell, and we'll catch a beer next time Swindon play Barnsley.
  22.
My dream bass. A REAL Gibson Thunderbird (bought from this very site). I can't wait to plug this in my rig and rock-out!
From me no less, JP travelled down to take the T-Bird off of my hands today, whilst gutted to see it go, I'm pleased that it's gone to a good home. Welcome on board JP, thanks for the easy transaction, and it was a pleasure meeting you this morning. Enjoy the fun!!!!
  23.
You've got to laugh, I put mine up for sale then suddenly there's three (albeit the others with no cabs), funny world we live in!
Indeed!!!
  24. Walked my T-bird into a door frame while carrying two basses into my house after my last gig, was not best pleased!!
  25.
Anyone used the Flight Case Company? http://www.theflightcasecompany.com/ Any thoughts or experiences? Should I query the £10 price hike. That does seem a bit naughty.
If they sold you the product and took your money, the deal is done, if they can't deliver promptly tough sh*te on them!! I'm sure they still have the right of refusal to sell or something but there's no way I'd pay the extra £10, you've acted in total good faith.
