I have 3 hercules hangers in a stud wall and they work just fine.I did use bigger screws than those supplied though. I also rotated them so the wooden base was paralel to the stud, not perpendicular to it. If you pull the hanger away from its base, its rotateable

I think if you get the proper fixings for stud walls you could probably hang a Jumbo Jet on them. Not that you would want to I suppose. The point is though I think that anything is secure if you get the correct fixings. Grandad Paul.
and have the requisite skill to put it up...........think I'll try the defretted Jazz on there first just in case!!
I have a Hercules GSP39WB wall stand brand new and unused which is surplus to requirements, and it has 3 holes in the mounting plate - two above and one below. Hope Kev won't mind me linking to the original for sale thread which has a picture http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=91428 £10 shipped, which is what I paid for it. Should be fine on stud walling provided you can find the stud.
I'm going to give Pete's hanger a go, one last chance for Hercules!!!
Any reason you want 4 screw fixings or is it just for peace of mind? I've got a Fender one that does the job. It only has 2 screw fixings though but, it's not like I'm swinging from it in the evenings.
Peace of mind to be honest, and I've got to go into stud walling.

I'm after some wall hangers for my basses. Had a look around, Hercules look ok but only have a 2 screw fitting and really want 4 if poss. Plus had a bad experience with a Hercules stand so will not get them on principal. Any recommendations??

After much musing, I really don't need 2 Gibson T-Birds. So I've decided to let this beasty go. I bought this as part of a deal to buy an amp from Mark at Bass Direct, he knows of it's history and said it came from a really good home. Comes with the older (and better than my new t-bird case) brown Gibson Case with lovely dayglo pink lining. It's a ace bass, low action and thunders as a thunderbird should. Couple of small dings and surface scratches, but nothing that spoils the appearance or sound....! Only mod I've made was to add Schallers to the rear and repositioned strap buttons (no more neck dive). Gigged by me twice. I love this bass, but two Gibsons when I need a standby amp isn't smart...! Live in Swindon, work near Brum so can meet thereabouts or will ship if needs be at your expense and risk. Thanks

Sold a couple of my Trace Cabs to this fine chap. Extremely easy to deal with and a really good guy to boot. I have no hesitation in recommending DaTallOne for buying from or selling to. Cheers F61

I spoke with a Chartered Tax Accountant (through my work) last year about this very subject, who stated that earnings from a hobby are not taxable. However if the Tax man can prove that it is more than that then it is taxable. From that, and it was verified but a second source, I deducted that weekend warriors (those who play for beer money and gear) are safe. For functions band charging several £k's per gig, I think it could be construed as more than a hobby therefore would declare away. Btw O'Neills pubs ask for NI numbers on invoices. What do we feel about this from a data protection basis??
That looks like a 60s type scratchplate - as well as having the 1/2" gap, it goes right up to the bridge pup surround. Jon.
Here's mine, doesn't get played as much as it should though!!!
Jamie, Obviously I don't know you from Adam (nor you me), but I'd say take a deep breath, count to at least 10, and think carefully before you decide what to do. I've just hit 50, and only picked up my first bass about 15 years ago. After a couple of years, circumstances conspired to make me take a break, but I didn't get rid of my gear, and then got stuck in again about 2 years ago. Even though I'm not particularly good, I get so much pleasure from picking up a bass and playing something, and wish I'd taken it up far earlier in life and devoted more time and effort to it. From what you say, you've done what I now wish I'd done, and I'd hate you to throw that away. While dreams and aspirations don't pay the bills, all roads eventually reach a corner - just make sure you're ready for it and are certain which way you want to go when it comes along.
+1 from a 48yo who gave up for 25 years. Sit tight and see what happens, life changes very quicky at your age, it goes feckin quickly at my age!!!
Hi y'all. I'm selling my barely used since new Ashdown MAG115 Deep speaker cabinet. Fab condition. I think I did about 2 gigs with it. All specs and weights can be found on the Ashdown website: www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?ID=22 (it is the 'tough black carpet' version rather than the vinyl :-) For a mere 100 English pounds (or 120EUR if you prefer!) its yours. The cab is currently in Birmingham so collection is preferred, but courier could be arranged. Any takers? Paul
Mr Keeves, Hope all well, buy with confidence from this fine fellow, have a 5-string stingray bump from me!!!!. Cheers Ju.

For sale my TE Series 6 1210 (4x10) Combo bought as a back up last year when I was having some amp problems. Currently sat in my music room, a massively over powered practice amp. It's in excellent nick almost prestine condition, the tolex is in superb condition, I the original thin cover to go with it. Slight humming when switched on but as soon as being played it is awesome. Price £275 best to collect as this beast is heavy. I think this amp is 200w at 8ohm, it is extremely loud, I've gigged it with a 4x10 cab and my drummer was bitching all gig how loud this thing was. Great amp, normal Trace Elliot reliability and build, and only a change to Genz Benz forces a sale. Let me know if you have any questions......
