I slip a bit of Alex's version in surreptitiously when playing with the Welsh acoustic Twmpath band I dep with .. if they've noticed they haven't said anything Crackin' OGWT version here complete with silly dance and suits
Thanks for that, just made a grey rainy Sunday really cool. We play (try to anyway) this version and it's a stormer. Takes me back to School days and the fact that these boys were the first "proper" band I was into. What a fantastic band SAHB were/are and Chris Glen is cool as f*ck. Where's the Ipod, bit of Faith Healer coming up right now!!!!

 5.
I bought this from Guitar Village earlier in the year and haven't really used it as I love my Sandberg too much! You know what it's all about - these sounds and look amazing and this one has been professionally set up by Chris McIntyre. Gibson quality varies and I spend some time looking for a good new example which this definitely is! If I can't get a good price I will keep hold of it so let me know if your interested.... Oh - comes with everything it came with and it's the standard sunburst.
Did this ever sell?
 6.
Nice, if only it were a bit closer...
I'm in Swindon and am gigging in Horndean in Dec if interested!!!!
 7. Do the driving pass plus course, your insurance should drop significantly, My kid's did anyway!
 8. Right that's it, my next bass is a Thunderbird. That is a top notch collection.
 9. But why would you get Fretbuzz after changing over strings of the same gauge??
 10.
So you're tearing up the boards, the band's hot and the audience is going wild. Or maybe not. All a bit tepid, really. Punters a bit....flat? Looking at the gig photos the next day, you're struck by the fact that the only person looking at the audience is your tiny, bouffant-haired front-man. Everyone else is staring fixedly at their instruments, tongue poking out like a dim child learning his catechisms. And that's pretty much the case for the whole set. Me, I'm trying to force myself to look up and out more than I do. I think it's definitely got to help. So, do you stare purposefully out at the assembled throng, catching peoples' eyes and acknowledging their presence. Or do you give it the Jazzbo Hunch* and pretend they are't there? * (This egregious swipe at the Jazz community does not necessarily represent the views of SkankCom, its employees, shareholders or associates and in no way suggests that adherents of the Jazz genre are deficient in any attribute which may be considered to be entirely commercially, culturally or socially beneficial).
Depends on the song, but normally I glance at the Fret board, audience, band and amp in equal amounts. Mind you 3/4 of the time I'm prob playing the wrong notes.

 13.
HA, I ordered and paid for a Roland D-Bass 2x10 combo online last year. The payment went through and I waited for delivery. I then recieved a phone call from the online company telling me the amp would not be delivered to them by Roland until December, a full two months after I had paid for it. Needless to say, I got my money back and went elsewhere. Selling stuff you don't actually have in stock is out of order in my opinion.
Had and did exactly the same with a Fender Jazz from Dawson's, got the cash back quickly though in their defence.
 14. That's a Daisy Rock bass isn't it????

 16.
Do you have other equipment plugged in and turned on at the same time? Has it only started humming since you brought it into the practice room? It could be a short somewhere but it is more likely that an earth lead has come loose somewhere. Try unplugging everything and then plug it all in and power up piece by piece. If you still get the hum with just the combo plugged in check the earth lead in the plug, the socket and any extensions you have connected. If you are comfortable opening it up you could try looking inside to see if any earth leads are loose. Does the amp have a ground lift switch? If so try toggling it. If the hum is not present with just the combo plugged in just started powering up stuff one by one. Do the same checks with each new device. Be very careful.
Thanks, I have used this in the room before, after I bought it. I did try it in the same socket as before and the buzz was there this time. I pretty sure something has happened in the amp and that the power supply is ok, I will check the earth in the plug though. Thanks
 17.
My Standy, standby combo has just been brought in to take place in my music room. It's been fine when used in the past (about 4 weeks ago) it's now developed an annoying hum (buzz) when switched on. I've tried different power sources and leads but still the same. even when volume is on zero with gain the hum continues. The only way I can stop it is to remove the speaker lead from the speaker input on the rear, I assume it's a short or something. Any wizzos out there got any great ideas. Amp plays ok with the hum constant. Cheers
Help?

 20.
I've just finished a 2 hour first session with Jake & was blown away with both his playing and the way he worked with me today. All in all a great way to spend a couple of hours, I recommend him very highly if you live anywhere near him. . .
I'll be the judge of all of this praise on 9th Nov and again on the 11th Dec after Jake turns me into a Double Bass ninja in the space of 4 hours. I do feel that Jake should be paying me for the entertainment he's going to get watching me struggle with the monster. I cannot wait......

 22.
Let me know what response you get from ashdown as I'm curious to know the speaker values. i.e 16 ohm 50 watt. cheers andy
The official line from Ashdown is.......................................... "The amp is rated at 8 Ohms minimum load, hence the speakers are each rated at 16 Ohms" You were right and I (as per usual) stand corrected. Thanks
 23.
Are they not 16 ohm each into 8ohm at amp stage? andy
Think so, I've mailed Ashdown for confirmation
 24.
I have a Hercules guitar stand and want to get a case for it. I've been keeping it in the box it came in, but the box is now trashed. I'm not really sure what to put it in as it gets chucked in the back of a van each week and needs to be looked after, but as I only payed £40ish for the stand, a custom flight case seems a little bit over the top. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I could use?
Apologies for off topic, I had one of these collapse at a gig, and my Ricky and P-bass ended up on the floor, I'm not convinced they're man enough to support 2 x basses, guitars being lighter i guess are ok.
