I bought a T-bird off farmer61 (cheers mate - sweet deal) a couple of weeks ago and gigged it for the first time last night - what a great experience!
Here's the very same bass in action (probably only one string mind you)
Friends of mine The Bossa Quartet, not to far away from Shropshire, she can see them live next sat. in Halkyn, North Wales https://www.facebook...256879970993711
Thx -
My friend at work is getting married in May 2012 and is looking for a 'quality' Swing band for her wedding. If you can supply disco choons aswell (as in DJ type stuff) while not playing that would be excellent. Friday 4th May in Shropshire.......('may the 4th be with you' and all that) I'll be there so it would count as a BC meet aswell. Please pm if seriously interested or know of any suitable bands. Thx Ju

What was your most embarrassing moment at a gig?
farmer61 replied to duncbassgit's topic in General Discussion
Playing and singing Truely, Madly Deeply as a first dance at a wedding........painful for all involved.....! -
Can I suggest that you take this reputation marking system off of the For Sale section, in the same way there should be not 3rd party negative comments about items for sale, just wonder whether this system could wrongly predudice sale items?

First one for a while. A parcel from Germany arrived today containing one of these ; A Matt Freeman Squier Precision. On first inspection it looks superb although think it may need a bit of a setup, should be able to sort this myself. Looking forward to a restring and a first outing tomorrow...!

I'm being stalked by Torquil........ After a couple of queries over email Torquil bought my (his now) Sunburst Gibson T-Bird. The cash was in my account quicker than I could log in. This is our second deal, both were how deals on here should be. Friendly and simple. I'm not going to post any furture kit sales on Basschat, I'm just going to email him directly , cuts out the hassle. Have no fear dealing with Torquil at all, he's a top guy.....!

Squier Classic Vibe Range - Which to choose?!
farmer61 replied to Musicman20's topic in Bass Guitars
Just ordered a Matt Freeman P in all of it's black loveliness. -
Ok scheduled to be 45 with 4 cancellations and 4 with another band. One of our regular venues fell foul of noise regulations. Pubs are definately quieter and I reckon we've played 5 or 6 gigs where there's no way they've made money from the evening. I suspect next year will be not as good though. Worrying times methinks

Sad times, had a limited amount of dealing with them and they were great with me. Best wishes to you all!

I'm thinning my collection of Gibson Thunderbirds, and need the funds for the latest hobby!!! My Black T'bird (not studio) which has signs of genuine roadware but plays like a dream, I've fitted flats on to it, if I recall it's a 1990 model. Comes with a fully functional but battered Brown oldstyle Gibson case with pink fluffy lining. (combination lock is not working, who locks cases anyway). Price is a fixed £650 (incl new picguard and Tone knobs). Original pickguard will be included, perfectly good just faded a tadge. The marks in the pic are wear not dents or deep scrathes, previous owner used it for it's proper purpose, I'm not and would like to thin my collection. It's a 22 year old bass that has miles under it's belt, it is not in prestine condition, nothing major though. Any questions please pm away, however I am not interested in any trades. I am based in Swindon but work in Brum so could meet enroute if required.
