A 15 won't necessarily go deeper or boomier than a 4x10. We've been sold the idea that you need a 4x10 with a 15 underneath to produce the lows by speaker manufacturers for some time now but forget the idea that a 15 will go lower than a 4x10 because with modern speakers it's simply not correct.
i have a 515 combo nd its a beautiful bass amp. but there is no DI out put which can make life hard if you start gigging. if you like the ampegs tone then it really is worth the extra money. but i would strongly reccomend that you check out some reliability reviews first. but if you like the ashdowns tone then heres something to check out http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/Basses...-BAS0002758-000 http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/Basses...-BAS0002786-000 i have giiged with both of these amps nd i cant say anything wrong with either of them
Eh?!!! Some mistake surely. The EB is more expensive than the MAG and they're both more expensive than buying from a Britsh based shop

You've pretty much answered the question already. It would work but be almost completely pointless. Assuming they are both 8 ohm you would be feeding half your amp's power into each cab which would not be the best use of the watts available to you. You would be far better off putting it all into the 8x10 You would also be mixing cabs that aren't designed to be used together and the results would be unpredictable due to mixing cabs with different drivers, tonal characteristics, frequency responces etc. OTOH what really matters is how it sounds to you so give it a try and you may like the result EDIT Actually it would be a bit louder using both because you would be getting the full juice out of your amp but I think the difference would be tiny and almost inaudible and the possible drawbacks would outweigh any possible benefit
I like it because I use my precision bass sound like as Glenn Hughes in Made in Europe, I've always wanted to have that bass sound.
Gulp Best bass sound EVER

Yes, if you connected them in parallel, or 2 x 4ohm drivers in series

About 10 years ago I played a gig at The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth with 2 other bands, and the supplied backline was one of these with a matching fridge. It was a Matchless valve head anyway so I assume it was a Thunderchief. Cor blimey I thought it was going to knock me off me feet. What a great sounding rig

Recommend me a power amp that does 2 Ohms.

Which myth is that? -
Hi Icastle, thanks for your answer, i've just found that the Randall head is 2 ohms.
Do you mean it only delivers it's rated output into 2 ohms? If so that will be almost impossible to achieve. If it's a twin channel amp you would need 2 x 4 ohm cabs per side which may be problematic for you. Ultimately though it's how it sounds to you that matters. Have you been able to fire them up in the shop?

Nicks Guitars ,Nice Stingrays!! Have a look.

He's got some rather nice Fenders too. -
I had a 62 reissue Jap Jazz which had it. AFAIA it was a feature on the early Jazzes and Fender Japan are being faithful to the original, so that probably makes it a 62 reissue
So, is there any other small combo amp that could be used for gigs? I'm pretty new to rehearsing and gigging, and the gear aspect of playing bass. I bought the TNT150 years ago when I was young and naive when really what I needed at that time was something like the Studio 110 but that wasn't around then!
If you're looking at the budget end of the market I think you'll struggle to get a significant improvement on the Peavey. The aforementioned Hartke is a good choice. I've known people gig with them. I've gigged with an Ashdown MAG250-15 which is about 180watts into a 15" speaker and it was fine for the job especially with an extension cab. There are plenty of gigworthy combos about but to get loud, light and cheap is a tall order. It would also help to know your budget
My doubt is: If i bridge the amp i supose it'll become 2ohm in the only active channel. My fear is to link a 8ohm cab to a 2ohm power amp output! I realy don't need the extra power but the headroom i get would be apreciated
Unless your amp is a valve amp it doesn't matter. The 2 ohms figure in the spec is just a minimum load. It doesn't mean it's designed to only work with a 2ohm load -

Does it really need to run at 2 ohms? Most PA amps are twin channel and they'll all happily run 4 ohms a side. -
My favourite is Bass Gear since it focuses on the things I'm interested in - the equipment.
I subscribed to that and I've only received 2 copies. Have you had all 4? -

If you mean an actual printed magazine then the only UK mag I'm aware of is Bass Guitar Magazine -

How are you going to be getting your gear around? Do you need lightweight gear that you can take on the bus or do you have access to transport and how strong do you feel? If you don't require it to be lightweight it'll vastly increase the range of of gear available to you and bring down the cost significantly.

500 watt Peavey T-Max complete Bass Rig - price drop £300!

Wecome to BC. I'm sure you will be equally as surprised how things have improved in the amp market if you ever need to upgrade your rig. The range and quality and value for money of bass rigs is a far cry fron even 10 years ago.
-
And another I think that qualifies as a rig of doom. Or DOOM Welcome to BC
-
I suspect that even the small 5 watt output would be enough to fry the input of a standard amp
