1.
only bass i play is an alba - looks a fender copy. dont know a great deal about basses, only been playing a few months but do love playing it.
You're in the right place then. You'll soon have half a dozen once the GAS takes over
2. The Bender Collision was reviewed in the defunct Bassist mag a few years ago. They gave it a very good review stating that it was really playable bass and not just a novelty.
3. I've done a search for melded array on FB and BFM and I can't find a description of what it actually is. Could you point me to a thread about it. The mind boggles just imagining 12 piezos fitted to a 1 x 10
4.
I'm sorry but, watch in awe.
Fantastic This is the sort of stuff the internet was invented for. Now then... where's that orange
5. Oh really. 24!!! You must be doing some serious cabinet building.
6. Yeah so am I Just waiting for some corners to turn up from Blue Aran.
7. But listen to the audio clips on that site. It's got a surprisingly good tone.
8.
That looks stunning If I didn't already have an OMNI15 and a pair of 10.5s I'd tear your arm orf
Finn, what do you use the Omni15 for? Don't the 2 10.5s cover all gigs?
9. Height is 690, width is 510 and depth is 410
10.
ding dong!
Yeah, a 62 re-issue Jazz. Beautiful isn't it?
11. Here are some of the build in progress
12. The imminent birth of a pair of Omni10.5s and the need to buy a Precision means I'm looking to shift this cab. It's a 2x10 and 500watts, 8 ohms, 49lbs and a very easy one man lift I would say it's probably the best sounding cab I've owned or heard. I sold the Schroeder you can see next to it in the picture because the BFM sounded so much better I didn't see any point in keeping it. I've got pictures of the innards and the build process for anyone who's interested. I took a lot of care building this because I had intended to keep it, and I'm something of an obsessive perfectionist so it's well put together, but GAS has finally got the better of me. £400, and that's a bargain for a cab that sounds this good. I'm in South Hampshire for anyone who wants a demo. Any questions please ask. Now £350. I would also be interested in trading for a Precision with a rosewood board with some folding stuff from me depending on what the P is.
13. Yeah great sound. I'd like to know what amp setup he's using
14. Very Interesting shootout between an Ampeg SVT and Laney Nexus with their respective 8x10s.
15. I think it's an improvement
16. Very nice bass though
17. +1 to all of the above. I've got nothing but praise for Ashdown's customer service. THey always reply promptly to e-mails no matter how stupid the question. On the occasion I had to return my head to them it was fixed and back at the dealer within 4 days. And that was 4 years after I bought it.
18. Just to confuse you further Sk8, The Highway P Bass has the greasebucket(?) circuitry in it. This is supposed to be a considerable improvement over the traditional P Bass tone control which basically just rolls off the treble, and the S1 which I always find is next to useless on the P, as it seems like everyone else does. I read a review in one of the mags. I think it was G****r & Bass magazine. They said it was the best Precision Fender had ever produced and a real improvement over the Am Series. I also agree with the above comment about the moulded hardcase you get with an Am series. They used to be good but they're now cheap flimsy crap. I'd rather have a decent quality gig bag
19. I'm amazed how few people have only got 1 bass. 3 so far. I need to buy another one. Damn you BassChat
