Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated. I was leaning toward sticking with what I've got but after reading these I think it confirms it for me. Thanks again!

Hi Guys I've just taken an Ampeg rig in a trade. It's a PF500 head with SVT-210HE cab. It sounds great but I've been looking at the PF series of cabs and was wondering if they'd sound better with the head from the same range? I'm happy enough with the sound I'm getting as it is, and I normally buy in to the 'only fix it if it's broke' mentality. But the common sense side of me says that a PF head would go better with a PF cab(s). Since I'm a newbie with Ampeg gear I thought I'd find out if anyone has any thoughts or advice on this? Thanks in advance guys! Chris

Looking to trade the above for some form of overdrive or octave pedal. It's a great pedal, I just find that I don't use it hardly at all so I thought it's best to swap if for something I will. It's in great condition, no obvious marks. I've taken the rubber off the bottom and added Velcro but I still have the rubber so will include this also. Pretty sure I have the box too. I can add cash for the right deal so what have you got guys? Cash sale £30 posted Thanks Chris
Very tempted by this. Are the front speakers a different model to the back ones? Do you know which model the speakers are that have gone? What caused the front ones to break down and what's the condition of the back ones? Sorry for all the questions. Have been looking in to getting a 4x10 to match my 1x15 and this would tick the boxes if it were working. Since it's not I need to check. I can only find one speaker that matches the spec you give.
I've PM'd you SirM!

Excellent to deal with. Great communication, everything exactly as described, would definitely do business again. Thanks for a very straightforward and pleasant transaction!

This is ideal for someone looking for a sturdy, powerful cab with the time and knowledge to get it working again, neither of which i possess The front two drivers are kaput, leaving 2 x 300 watt drivers with a total of 16 ohms of impedance wired in parallel. All this needs is 2 x 32 ohm speakers wired in parallel with the existing two to give an 8 ohm cab. I've tried to find 300w 10 inch drivers at 32 ohms but they seem to be impossible to get hold of. There are some 100w drivers around at 32 ohms though, so you'll end up with an 800w 4 x 10 rig in a sturdy, compact cabinet. Cash is king as always but I'm very open on this and will listen to any sensible cash or trade offer. A decent acoustic bass, heads, pedals, pretty much anything, try me! Can include cash either way for the right deal. I'm happy to post this, price comes in at around £20 Any questions feel free to drop me a line.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not handy with the technicals so any help I can get would be much appreciated. It's not my gigging bass so this is by no means urgent; having said that it would be nice to get it sorted! Thanks again guys Chris

Hi guys I just bought the 5 string version of the above second-hand on eBay. Pleased overall - plays and feels lovely and the pre-amp is an absolute beast. Only issue I had was that it was a bit on the quiet side. I'd be practicing with me Squire jazz and then swap it for the Hudson and the volume was hardly there. Same amp settings, same lead, so it must be the guitar. Went to play it tonight and the volume is completely dead. I know next to nothing about guitar maintenance and repair but I checked the obvious. I tried a new jack lead and even a different amp but still nothing. I replaced the 9 v battery, nothing again. I removed the back plate and checked the soldering, no loose connections. That's the extent of my knowledge! I'm guessing the pickup was on it's last legs when I had it (hence the initial volume problem) and then gave up the ghost altogether. I was so pleased with the construction of the guitar I was considering upgrading the pickup anyway. So my question is, what do my fellow low-enders recommend? I've been playing for years but never had reason to alter anything like this before so I know absolutely nothing about it, so please be gentle Cheers in advance guys!

Hi Dazed, The Office is a cracking venue, right on Castle Square. You've also got The Vault on Wind Street, The Adelphi used to be good but not sure about that any more, and there's a few other places on Wind Street as well. The Singleton pub also have bands, and The Uplands Tavern
