  1. SOLD: Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass, Olympic White and rosewood fretboard. Updated with Tone Rider Precision Plus pick ups. There is a slight chip on the edge near the rear strap button, which is barely noticeable and an indentation on the neck. Neither affect the playability. The bass plays and sounds fantastic with a lovely growly tone. I'm only selling this because I've discovered that I prefer a Jazz neck and I've just bought a Mexican Jazz off 40hz from this site. £180.00
  2. Thanks, I'm going to enjoy playing this!
  3. I've received my new to me Mexican Jazz in Candy Apple Red with maple fretboard today, which I bought off 40hz. It's got an awesome growly tone with loads of variation with only a small adjustment of the volume and tone controls. This is going to make it a very versatile bass. I've presently got a Squier VM 77 Jazz which I thought had a good tone but it's nothing compared with this. I just need to try it out live but haven't got a gig until 14th May. It's gonna be a long month!
  4. Just bought a Mexican Fender Jazz off Simon. Excellent service, I confirmed that I wanted to buy it on Friday & received it on Tuesday! Simon kept me informed throughout, I would definitely buy off him again, though hopefully this bout of GAS is cured!
  5. Ok, can I buy it then? If you message me your bank details, I'll transfer the money. Cheers Andy
  6. Would you consider posting & if so how much to post to Harrogate?
  7. Thanks , I'll have a think about it. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply but I'm now thinking about having a maple fretboard. Indecision is a terrible thing!
  8. Hi, would you consider posting & if so, how much would it cost to post to Harrogate?
  9. It's St Patrick's Day, they'll have had too much Guiness by the second set to notice!
  10. I don't have experience of the slab body Precision but I had and Epiphone Les Paul which had no contours and I found that it dug into my stomach and shredded the skin where my arm rested on the body. I wouldn't go for a bass without any contours again.
  11. I had the Honer Jack about 20 odd years ago. I remember it being a fantastic sounding bass. I moved it on to get a precision which I had for the next 20 years! I seem to remember the active being too hot sounding for me, so I always played it in passive mode.
  12. My band Black Ice are playing tonight 17th March at The Roman Bath, York. We've got Martin Kirk "Kirky" of this manor depping on guitar for us as our guitarist decided to go see Wolf Alice tonight instead of playing! www.facebook.com/blackiceyorkshire
  13. My Band Black Ice are playing at Simply JJ's in Pocklington this Saturday 5th March. We play Rock, Pop & Indie covers from the sixties to the nineties. (No AC/DC covers) www.facebook.com/blackiceyorkshire

  16. Cheers Bassmonkey!
  17. Hi, I've been a regular browser of Basschat for a couple of years and have finally taken the plunge and joined. I've played bass for about 36 years and am self taught, so I still have lots to learn! I play in a covers band and we usually play two or three times a month. My equipment is: Squier Vintage Modified 77 Jazz, Squier Vintage Modified Precision and a reliced Junkyard Precision. My amp is a Gallien-Kreuger MB200 head with a GK MBX210 cab and a Fender Rumble 112 V3 cab.
