these are all blank,so you have to work out any chords or transcripts for yourself, that being the point of the exercise, mike

Hello I'm sure I have seen this somewhere,anyone have something I can print off as I will be away from my bass for a few days this would be a good time to practice some theory by working out some chord box patterns, also a blank tab page would be useful as well, Answered my own question, check out this site loads of blanks for 4, 5 & 6 string, mike b www.printblank.com

I would agree with bilbo , having said that I did find Steve Baileys book & dvd helpful, you can check out a lot of the content on you tube,also if you're playing an unlined fretless its worth putting a marker on the neck for the 1st fret position, that helped me a lot in the early days.Perseverence & practice will soon have you playing with you ears instead of your eyes ,all the best, mike b.

Looking for something light & compact I can hook up to either one or two 1x12 cabs,won't need massive power so 150w should be fine,headphone socket is a bonus,anybody used one these for any length of time,any known reliability issues or bad points to watch out for,saw one of these at Jam Guitars in Bristol when they first came out but didn't get the chance to try it, mike b.

Use the cable I mentioned in the earlier post you won't find anything cheaper,you can strip off the outer sheath when wiring individual drivers inside a cab if you prefer, mike b

2 core mains cable in 0.75mmsq section toolstation or screwfix do a 50m roll for about a tenner, used this for all my speaker leads for years, don't be fooled by more expensive imitations, always use good quality ie Neutric jacks tho, mike b.

Don't knock it till you try it & you're certainly never to old to play fretless,it is nowhere near as difficult as you might think to play without frets,buy one of the basses you like the look of & give it a go, after all you can always put it up for sale again.Always plenty of help on the forum & check out "fretless bass lessons" on you tube,look out for Steve Bailey as a starting point, best of luck, mike b.

Hello time to restring my sterling,up to now I have used d'addario prosteel 40-100 on my thumb & mm sterling,but the G string on the mm has always seemed brighter/twangier, almost like having one new string & three old ones on the same bass if that makes sense, (never had the problem with the thumb),My theory is to try a set with a slightly heavier g to try & even this out.Had a search on previous threads & fancy a shot at hi-beams or maybe fat-beams but before I splash out would appreciate some advice from other DR users.I only play finger style & I have tried adjusting pickup (nordstrand I believe) height/angle ,mike b.

When I was playing guitar on the function circuit I had three of these over a twelve year period,best strats I ever owned.Lace sensor pickups were completely noiseless,locking tuners made string changing so much easier & with the roller nut you could actualy use the trem without fear of knocking the things out of tune,listen to what jeff beck did on his "guitar shop" album & you will hear what I mean.If ever I became a working guitar player again it would definately be my weapon of choice, mike b.

Hello,I have been using a Kinsman rectangular shaped case which looks to be similar in construction for the last 12 month's,cost me about £40 I think.To be fair if I have to carry a bass in the car with a lot of other gear I always use a hiscox hardcase,however if I have a lot of walking to do (a gig in the local pub or where we rehearse in an area with limited parking ) then I am happy to strap this on my back with any of my basses inside.Used sensibly this type of gigbag is a useful alternative,but if you get run over by a bus while carrying your pride & joy you might regret not using a hiscox,all the best , mike b.

search out anything by colin hodgkinson, 32-20 blues has always been one of my favourites eversince I saw him with the alexis corner on late night channel 4 show many years ago, mike b.

Hello,looking to improve my fretless playing & in my search have been listening to DB lines on this album,anyone have anything on Freddie Freeloader,not neccesarily the whole thing but just some of the DB parts would be helpful,I have found a couple of the tracks tabbed on the net but can't find anything on Freddie,thanks, mike b.
