Gator shallow 4U case for Mesa 400+
jimbartlett replied to onehappybunny's topic in Accessories and Misc
A Boogie 400+ is a big amp and I think it will need a full length case. You'd better check the length and the width, because there is a lot of heat generated and the fan is sucking air in from the side. On a regular SKB case there is no room between the amp and the side of the case so I had to cut holes in the side of the handle cover. Without good air flow from the side you will fry the amp!
I've had no problem with mine sitting in a 6U shallow Gator case. I wonder if that is a different size to a shallow SKB case? I do have 1U of space free between the Mesa and my rack tuner though. -
Just taken a look at that Bass and wow that is very nice. I've just registered for an account on the Dean forum with the intention of putting my name down for one. As long as it does run at the expected £400-£500 I think my bank account won't suffer too much as well.
Excellent, nice one mate! People are getting on the list at a rapid rate so you have done the right thing jumping on now before they run out of spaces. The price is going to be annouced by the end of October with deposits required by the end of December, the final payment would be due around April next year. There is plenty of time to save up . They have updated the photoshop to show the creme binding on the headstock now too. I don't know if it's going to happen but, we are thinking about having DOA # of 25 written on the truss rod cover as well as stamped on the back of the headstock.

Hi, I have mine in a 6U with a blanking plate and a Korg tuner. It will fit fine in a 4U Gator, I have one for sale in fact if you are interested! -

Hi, I had this patch bat made for my pedal board but then realised I have no use for a pedal board anymore, doh! It is brand new and built by Red Onion Solutions. The stickers can come off if you want, it's 8 jacks connected as 4 pairs, powder coated red. Very small footprint on your board (see photo with my phone as a size guide). £20 including P & P Cheers, Jim

Hi, I have a flightcase for a Mesa 400+ Head, very sturdy built to last. The head sits on the bottom, the top lifts off and a panel in the front lifts out to allow access to the Mesa controls. £65 please, but due to the weight collection is preferable from Kent/London. You can sort out a courier of your choice if you wish though. Thanks, Jim.
Just checked my account and buying this behemoth would leave us £77.20 to live on for two weeks. The children would starve. Good luck with the sale, although secretly I hope it's still there for when I have some more cash.
Ha ha! Thanks mate, you never no it might still be here.....
Shame it's not a bit closer.... i'd have had to give this serious consideration
If it helps, I am willing to drive and meet up somewhere? I think my limit would be about Nottingham though....
I just showed the pic to my guitardist saying I was considering it, he sent me a message back saying if I bought it and the gig was upstairs I would have to carry it myself
Ha ha!!! Get the lazy buggers to lend a hand! It's on tilt-back wheels which make it easy to move. I'll take some photo's of it tonight showing the condition etc. and I'll post them up tomorrow morning.
I had the Nemesis NA320 head for a while, it was awesome but never quite got me the volume I need against the guitard in my originals band. Wayne, you should give this a go, I think you'd like it!
The 400 Watt 8 * 10 easily has enough to go against a loud drummer and 2 Mesa 4 * 12 Guitarists in my band . One of the great things about the 8 * 10 format is that it is so clear on stage due to the speaker being so tall and near ear height.
Considering that one of their most famous endorsees (Dimebag) was shot dead on stage, naming any guitar the DOA seems a little misguided. Hmmm, Dreamowners of America anyone? Nooooo, the first thing most people would think is Dead or Alive, or, Dead on Arrival. P
They have been naming the custom runs "DOA" since before Dimebag was shot dead. I can see your thinking though.

I really wish I had one to show you! I think there were only a few made (if any) but I would love to have a Demonator like that one!

I totally agree with umph ("big humbuckers > big tube amp > big speakers > big tone"). I use a Gibson Thunderbird IV and drive a Mesa Bass 400+, it works very well for Metal. Tame it down a little and you have a fantastic Rock setup too.

Update the Bass build is going ahead, we have the approval from Dean to build them. A deposit of a 1/3 of the value of the Bass (TBA) is required by 31st October 2008 with the finished article(s) expected around April 2009 where the remainder will need to be paid. As I said before judging from past efforts, they will mostly likely be around the £400 - £500 mark. Here is the link to the official "sign me up" thread, please jump in if you are interested.
