Yes is was the strip ones that stick and I've wired it up to a female barrel so it can run off 9v or 12v power adapter. It was on Friday, silly loud. Good point about the PA. A line out into a bigger PA may be the answer as well.

Just checked these out, look good! Can you drive your Super Compact with a loud but clean tone? Does it distort at all at these levels?

I’ve got a Trace AH250. Lovely sounding and fine for a pub gig but Friday was a function room of 400+ people and it had to be pushed to the max. I played the gig but it was distorted due to this. I was thinking power amp but did actually think about an Ashdown ABM 600. The Rootmaster sounds interesting too as does the Aguilar.

Hello. After a bit of help please? I have a Barefaced Super Compact Gen 3 which is 8 ohm and can handle up to 600w. Can anyone recommend a good power amp to drive this with as my current amp isn’t enough for bigger gigs and distorted like a mother on Friday night trying to get over a mic’d up drum kit, keys and brass section. I am most likely adding a second Super Compact in 2018 so ideally something which can power the two speakers with enough headroom to not distort? Thanks in advance!

Couldn’t agree more. My point about cab weight was what works for me. I used to lug a very heavy cab around but now have found something as good but lighter so I’m happy. Whatever works for someone is great though 😊

I changed my rig for a lightweight one over the last couple of years. I wasn’t completely happy sontried lots of different heads and cabs. I then read on here about class A/B amps having that “heft” that’s class D don’t. I’ve since got Barefaced cabs and I have a Trace Elliot AH250 and a Trace Elliot SMX head to choose from. Both are weighty but paired with the Barefaced cabs sound absolutely gorgeous and THAT was the sound I was after in my head and ears. Best of both worlds to me is to find a lightweight cab you are happy with and then the weight of the head really doesn’t matter too much as it’s not as bulky to lug around.

I’ve just posted about my two One 10s. I’ve never used a Two 10 but if you are worried about keeping up with a rock band I can guarantee that you will have buckets of presence and tone. Totally blown away with these little fellas!

I don’t understand all the technical jargon I’m afraid but I’m pleased everyone has started a conversation about the cabs. Just an update after a rehearsal. Absolutely bloody amazing the pair of these. I play in a 6 piece Ska band and these sounded HUGE. Everyone kept looking at them and shaking their heads in disbelief. Now just to let you know what I do with the tone to get my sound, have a Trace and do boost the low band on the EQ including the low mid but cut the high mids then level off the high band to centre. I also cut the passive tone on my P Bass a tad too. I’m chuffed. Thanks Alex and Barefaced!
