  1. Quite right too! A talent like yours should never be idle. Gerronwiditt! Heeheehee
  2. Stick with it. I have the humbucker version with the licenced Barts and it's lovely. If it is of any help, I found that doing chromatic scales at first position helped a lot with string crossovers and generally getting used to the low B. I then found that I was enjoying my four stringers a bit more as they were more open spaced. I don't like doing drop tunings as a rule so it's good to have the five for those brass rich Northern Soul numbers. Best of luck with it.
  3. It's good to have either in my humble experience.
  4. That looks fine to me. Just the suggestion of a reverse "S" shape where the edge is thinned by the carve. Sometimes the two cuts don't line up in such a pleasing way.
  5. Do you get the wavy edge effect looking down on the upper edge at the belly and forearm cuts?
  6. Nice. I can't wait to see what happens next. Very @Jimotheyesque of you old chap.
  7. Welcome Joe. As you can see, you've come to the right place for advice. Fortunately, affordable instruments made these days tend to play well. You should easily be able to make a good sound without busting the bank. Of course after you buy your first there will come a time when you want to get another. This phenomenon is known as GAS...
  8. You'd better beat it before it gets beaten for you then. I don't like the look of those bodyguards.
  9. But: What usually happens in Basschat is that we start picking at threads and wheedling about heft and P basses and whether Wankel driven heads are the way forward etc. We finally get a fresh set of ideas and you shoot it down? For the sake of perishing pfff man, this is exactly why we need fresh blood. Oh, and I was looking forward to using my pitchfork for the first time since I left home down on the farm anyway. Heeheehee
  10. Welcome Az. Exiting times ahead then...
  11. The man of many hats! Rock on. I'm glad that you aren't going with the latest 'phone camera fad. It's not going to last.
  12. Yes. The cropped original was lacking. You can't see the join. You wouldn't happen to be the one who supplied Ernie Wise's hairpieces were you? Eric couldn't see the join there either. @fleabag; I reckon you might be able to harvest a crop of images from this topic that would eventually make a great composite poster... (keep 'em coming folks). Your keys bod might well win the day yet.
  13. I get you. The first build being a test bed for the prototype. Good thinking.
  14. Shame. If we'd got another two versions of the idea you could have had a four paned poster Andy Warhol stylee. (Remember where you heard the idea first, heeheehee.) Edit: If you like that, what do you reckon to a panelled quilt as band merch?
  15. That's the spirit! Looking forward to the development of this project and your next.
  16. I like the box of blades. Have you a link for those please? I couldn't find any locally. I have a blade holder similar to yours only it is retractable. The tool shop that sold it to me can't get blades even on order...!
  17. Yeah. Lee Evans is great isn't he?
  18. Not only did he play an Alembic, he also had a coffee table made in the shape of an enormous Strat headstock. That's success for you. Like Mick above, I'm very glad he's still with us after the "stall" he had.
