  1. BIG woof! Two eighteens? I want them at ear level either side of my head, heeheehee, instant brain liquidiser.
  2. Welcome Mark. Zoom B3 owner here. I am slightly overwhelmed (as a hobby bassist) by the seemingly infinite combinations that this relatively simple multi effect unit is capable of. I have really only scratched the surface with what it can do. I am encouraged to hear that the brand is used by working musicians as you describe above. If you ever feel inclined, I'd love to see a post on how you would use it. Good point regarding affordable, yet playable instruments. Check out the Build Diaries. There is a lot of interesting stuff, from workable bodges to complete builds of boutique standard. Enjoy.
  3. I hope you can do a build thread for the cab to drawer storage conversion. I promise not to throw rotten fruit.
  4. This is the sort of band that makes it worth getting spruced up for a night out. Keep up the good work all ye.
  5. Not yet Peter, I haven't been into Derby lately. When I go next I will see what HMV say. Also, I'm waiting for next month's income minus Council Tax, Water Rates etc before I can do much else. Don't worry. If there is one to be had I will find it.
  6. Bill Of Materials? Welcome to the forum K.
  7. I haven't tried it personally but I think with patience and careful control of the heat source (soldering iron @Andyjr1515?) it is less work than filling and gives you a better result. Ought to be cheaper too.
  8. They look a lot like indentations. That means it should be possible to steam the exposed grain and restore the surface prior to re-coating - no filler required. i think @Andyjr1515 has done this repair a time or two.
  9. Hooray! A hat trick from Dom! Perhaps there is a kind member who would help Dom repost those pictures off of Farceberk for those of us who just use this site. Going for oak eh Dom? Good on yer!
  10. Seconded.
  11. I'm not going to the 'states until I've tried all the local record shops. Heeheehee. Regards to Bournemouth. I spent many dirty weekends there when I still had 'nuff lead in me pencil.
  12. Yes. I may try that if you don't get a satisfactory response from MIG. Cheers.
  13. Drop it off at mine and I'll take good care of that for you. You can have it back for the weekend (...not saying which one mind).
  14. Are you paying? I'm in for a bit of that if you are. I mean, KLF burnt a million pounds so I feel it's a relativity minor offence to the sensibilities of the delicate flowers who collect antiques, bless 'em. Back to Rob for his project now...
  15. I'll wait for that then. Thanks. I don't do other social media platforms. I am more of a loner, especially on the 'net.
  16. Good idea. It adds that extra pleasure you get from defacing a Fender lookalike.
  17. I would like to have one as a test bed for various pick-ups. I have a box full and it strikes me as an easy way to get an idea of the sound before committing to one or other of a selection of them.
  18. Mr Stroud, I presume. Sorry I am late to this thread. I bought the original vinyl in the late seventies. I loved it. I am delighted to have the opportunity to buy the re-release on disc. Do you know of any physical outlets that could sell it to me? I don't do money on the 'net. The hooky bit for me was the bass. Thank you for that brother.
  19. Welcome David. Best wishes to you, your two sisters and the rest of your family. Like many others here, I corresponded with your Dad. Dave Sr contacted me in response to an Items Wanted post I made about four years ago. He was a friendly and generous man. We were in contact a few times after. He was exceptionally supportive of some personal issues I had at the time. He donated lots of useful stuff for my cheapo home building projects. He would not accept my offer to cover postage costs nor take anything for the items he posted to me. At one point he offered me an unwanted iPad for free! I declined as I felt he had already been more than generous to me. From what he said, I gathered that someone else would benefit from the offer. I was surprised to hear of his passing and a little mournful. I'm glad to see you posting in Basschat. It is comforting to see that you are seeking good advice in dealing with your late father's belongings. Good luck with your clearance.
  20. You should see my post, this morning, about that on Daily Annoyances.
  21. This is where it would fall down for me. I hate touch screens and panels with an intensity that most folk can't fully understand, myself included. The display part is fine. It's the physical buttons and knobs that I miss. Also, ONE set of buttons and/or knobs is easy to learn. Nested menus with a variety of different arrangements of clicky bits are hard to assimilate. I don't even bother these days. If something is nested behind a menu it simply won't be useful to me. I think it is because these devices are not tactile. I see some touchy keypads offer a vibrate function but that is hardly addressing the issue. I do admire the concept of shrinking hardware but I would need physical knobs and buttons large enough for my large hands to operate by feel if necessary. Miniaturisation just for the sake of it is a pain in the Adam's apple.
