Toe Tappers and Funker's Social Club (T2FSC). This should remind some on here of the old Wheel Tappers and Shunter's Social Club from telly. Warning: The above link contains traces of Bernard Manning.

New 5 string Warwick Corvette $$ style build

Don't forget the mittens to go with the scarf! Nicely ambitious project. I wish you well. Especially removing the fretboard - I hope you get some images for us during the process. -
Think of it as a term of endearment.

Funky McFunkface. Hmmm. I like it.

But you have the triangular hats, right? Otherwise it's the Goods Descriptions Act for you laddy!

I have D'Addario half-rounds on two of my five strings, the Ibby and the Pit Bull. I have tapewound Stainless Picatos on my Steiny five. The only bass I have now with roundwounds is the B2A and they are lightweight superwounds. The B2As pickups work well with these giving a full bottom end to the otherwise light superwounds. My Vantage fretless has Rotosound 88 black nylon tapewounds - warm and thumpy. I like the half-rounds. On the Ibby I have more than enough bass and sometimes I will roll it off a bit and boost the mids and highs at the preamp but they sound fine flat too. There's a nice interaction between bridge and neck pick-ups midway in the blend knob's travel that would work well for solos I think.

Aw, that's lovely. Until you explained that I thought it was slightly pretentious for a band name but forgave it as it sat well with many other, often hugely, pretentious 80's bands names. We went by the name Holiday Mood for example.

I never twigged! Doh!!!

Are you sure you aren't a closet keyboardist? I might feel similarly if I owned any tweeters but I don't have any HF tendencies in me.

Right. Melfunkshaun! The OP can't have this name until I have exhausted all possibilities of getting a Melvin and a Shaun in my band and then being happy that they aren't going to assassinate each other because it sounds a bit like Melvin jumps Shaun's bones as a part of the performance. It's that or bully some innocent musicians into changing their names by deed poll on the thin promise of a lucrative five year touring schedule.

I've got them on the Squier VM Jaguar. Lovely and compliant.

Not so much a band name as something that dull suburban dads do about once a year. Ahhh. Early PF reference. Nice. Is that a quote from Tubular Bells? The one I like however is:

May I draw the distinction between the Forstner bit and the drill bit for some of the readers who might take them as being the same thing? Forstner Bit Used to quickly remove large quantities of material and leave a flat surface. Short pilot without threads - Doesn't penetrate the workpiece much beyond the depth of cut. Does not draw the bit into the workpiece Flat cutting face with three or more cutting edges - Multiple cutting edges reduce the tendency towards chatter. No side flutes - Side flutes are unnecessary for this sort of cut and can remove material that you want to keep. Wood Drill Bit Used to make holes for dowels and screws. Larger pilot with threads to pull the drill into the workpiece - Bites into the workpiece and can draw the bit past the depth you seek. Flat cutting face with only two (usually) cutting edges - Two cutting edges offer less friction and speed up the cut. These tend to chatter and the hole cut is seldom true. Side flutes to break up wood chips as the drill penetrates deep into the workpiece - Necessary when drilling deep. Not needed for shallow cuts and can be a handicap when you seek precision cuts. -
What if your band is already called Pornsite?

Taking funk, soul, jazz and adding foot I thought Funk Foot Souljazz might work. The contraction of the name looks eye catching for the fliers too : FFS.

...and it will be drawn in a more manly shade of pink, say, light purple. That's a phrase that's best said with one's back against a wall when in mixed company. Facetiousness aside; that's some lovely looking material you've got to work with. Good luck with the build! -

I remember when there were no Standby switches, only Off switches. Ah... happy days. That's one thing that may well be regarded as a valuable antique one day. -
"kevazingogate" It's a knotty problem.

OK. This is a mass produced Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass in its original form. It has however been breathed upon by our own @Andyjr1515 and is quite unique in appearance. Some of you may recognise part of it from Andy's previous avatar. Although stock in essence, it got a refinish, a modified scratch plate and a full set-up. It's a great sounding bass anyway but now it looks fascinating too. Whilst nowhere near as unique as his complete builds, it is with pride that we (Jack and I) can say that we've got something nice by that nice man at AJR Guitar Mods from the time before he got famous and started to live as a recluse in his own private lumber yard where he started rolling out wilder and weirder basses such as the Spruce Goose bass with its massive wing span. -
That is weird. It's back. Must have been a forum fart.
