Possibly. The bigger high street outlets are also a threat remember. Foulds, one of two decent sized outlets in Derby, has recently expanded. They've opened a guitar, bass and sheet music shop in the Strand Arcade. The original shop in Iron Gate continues to sell a wide range of instruments and accessories. I've always liked Foulds but then it is handy for me to visit. I like the new outlet even better. They've got plans. I imagine it is getting hard for folk who don't have easy access to the larger towns and cities where such outlets can still be found. You could argue that they are causing the demand for online shopping though and look at this whole Internet is killing local industry notion with a slightly different perspective.

I wouldn't use this project as a first lesson in soldering if I were you. If you really want to though, get your mate to give you a crash course in the basics and some homework to practice on that sets you up for the job at hand. It's easy when you do all the right things. I enjoy it.

You'd like it at The Holly Bush near Ripley. At one of their OM nights last year the house bass combo was on the right. I struggled a bit. I'm assuming they have it there still of course.

It makes a difference to the contact area between the cab and the stage. That in turn affects the coupling of the cab. More surface area equals more coupling. It often makes a difference to the sound but it depends somewhat on what the stage flooring is made of. PS: Turning them on their side may not allow them to work as intended if they're supplied with rubber feet. If you have locking castors, try leaving them on for your next performance. The worst that can happen is that you have to fiddle with your eq a bit more.

It's a noise cancellation technique from the good old days of analogue. The mics are out of phase so the background is cancelled out while the vocals (in the upper mic) survive the summing of the two signals. If I recall correctly from my sound and lighting coursework back in the day that is.

If you are repeatedly able to make necks to such tight tolerances as you've already demonstrated, surely you need only make a neck to test the notion?
