  1. Personally, I am glad we aren't catering for site hoppers. Crikey! Isn't it easy enough to site hop without yet another ruddy app? It's not really like we actually need the casual trade either.
  2. I can sing. I can play. Although much improvement is needed on both, I feel I am getting closer and closer to doing both together one day. I'd love to carry it off well though. One of the things that is pushing me towards that goal is that I can't get to jam these days. It strikes me that I should use the time I have on my hands at home to get ready to solo at an OM when I can get out and about again. Gawd help the lot of you!
  3. It's interesting to see an album by Chic on the list. I might have that. I got Dimitri from Paris Presents le Chic Remix last year. It's got instrumental versions alongside vocal versions of their great hits. Dimitri doesn't suffocate the original masters with unnecessary DJ nonsense. I love it. Thanks for the link.
  4. Ahem! Things - plural. Lush Bristols usually come in pairs. Cosmo Smallpiece, Secretary, Misguided Pedants Association
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Naked_(band) Perhaps a change of name for the band and then dress appropriately. No-one is going to ask you to bring the hors d'oeuvres after that.
  6. Hah! Thanks. You saved me the bother of re-embedding a troublesome link.
  7. Yeah. She's not for turning either, so I am told.
  8. Yes. It's helped make me the musician I am today. I struggle finding TAB for kazoo though.
  9. Oi! I'll not sit silent while there is any hint of Tina bashing here. She's fine by me. I was interested to hear a bit more about her and less about David Byrne or Chris Frantz. What happened to Tina was a bit like what happened to me in Dublin at the time. I was pulled into a band before I knew it was something I'd enjoy by friends who needed a bassist. Behave yourself or I'll have her go all Mrs T on you.
  10. I want to see him do the spider on a sixer! Just saying because that little exercise used to tie me in knots on my five. I can't imagine doing it on a sixer.
  11. Someone here described it as looking a bit like a kazoo in a topic not very long ago. Just thought I'd resurrect the notion. I am just as likely to use one as I am the other. I remember being given one at a very early age in a primary school band lesson. We didn't have the benefit of Google back then.
  12. You did! Just then!!! Everyone else was thinking it quietly to themselves and being all dignified about it but you just had to go and blurt it out. Cuh. (Heeheehee)
  13. Yes. I got that. I was really only having a pop at the comment above from someone who seemed disappointed that Fender wasn't endorsed loudly enough although I suspect that said comment was made with tongue firmly in cheek. I think of myself as a bass player because it is the only bass instrument that I play and it happens to be called a bass. I'd love to be a bassist though and be able to play any instrument that occupies the lower registers. Interesting to see Vulfpeck's Jack Stratton as a contributer.
  14. Yes. I noticed that too. Did you catch which SDGR she had?
  15. I agree. I mean, not mentioning Fenders is a bit like Top Gear not featuring Fords especially. Why would you need to? I'd like to have had a bit more sousaphone or tuba in it though. I've heard some meaty funk underpinned by those too.
  16. Aw knackers! My PVR cut off the end of the show just as it looked like Dizzy Rascal was covering Tom Tom Club's Genius of Love. I looked for a YT clip but could not find whether I had been misled by the little bit I saw. Good show never the less.
  17. I'm suppose that no-one ever thinks of putting so much as a single drop of 3 in 1 oil on router bit guide bearings. They are so easy to overlook and take for granted. I hope your repair looks as good as @Jabba_the_gut's did after his router farted spectacularly that time. Bevelled edges can look really good if you get them right. I reckon they'd look good with the body shapes you've shown us so far.
  18. Just one question; Will you two be tweaking each other in private or are we forced to watch you both? I have a bucket of cold water on standby just in case. Nah. This is the bit where the magic happens; when Andy and client riff off of each other to get the design passed off. You're in good hands Fleabag.
  19. Great project. I'd go for CNC if you can afford it. You will still have some light manual fitting to do anyway. Unless you are confident that you can get all of your mounting points accurately aligned using manual skills, you risk having a finished article that you will be picking faults with. Looking down whilst playing and regretting the fact that there is a misalignment issue, no matter how small, will distract you. If you choose CNC, there is also the option of adding lightness to your cabinet by routing out material from the internal surfaces of your 12mm stock sheet where it does not contribute to the overall strength of the unit.
