My Vantage fretless is all black.
It looks like the fingerboard is rosewood stained black. The only markings are the side dots. It had roundwounds from new and consequently the finish is less than perfect now. The lighter rosewood shows through in places. I wondered about restaining it but was told promptly by our Jack to leave it.
I have since put black nylon tapewounds on and they suit the bass much better as well as being kinder to the fingerboard. I have to admit I prefer the worn in look now.
You may be lucky and get a good match with your veneer but I'm betting that even if others can't see the lines, you won't be able to unsee them. There will be a difference in the direction of the wood grain for starters. That isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I love the way you have The Tofu Cookbook on the same shelf as The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology.
That's a nice finish. I liked it in blue too.
So, in the spirit of the topic title, right now you are flouncing off-site while keeping an eye out to see if anyone was impressed.
Bless.
I'll let the ambassador know that you will be having your Ferrero Rochers over at GuitarChat from now on.
