  1. Cool! Now everyone can have a personal fart locker of their very own.
  2. My brain went TILT on reading the second word. Who quantifies anything?
  3. I like the provision of a mattress in the workshop. You are either: obsessively dedicated to the project barred from bringing sawdust to bed with you Heeheehee
  4. If it was me, I'd use the handsaw to open the phone so I could shake the photos loose and send them surface mail. Glad you got topside of it in the end.
  5. Some of us don't do FB. After recent events some of us won't ever go there again. Thanks for the YT link, I've got that downloading for a little lunchtime listening.
  6. I'd love to think of it being that simple.
  7. If guitarist = Silverback... shouldn't it be the guitarist in the cage rather than the amp he's broadcasting his chest thumping with?
  8. Welcome Ron. The Build Diaries will be of good use to you among other resources. Hawaiian bass sounds intriguing. I reckon you ought to post a topic about that in General Discussion. Have you got any examples of it?
  9. As pointed out in the documentary, he wasn't one to go along with the starmaker machinery. I wouldn't mix with media types. There is not enough money in the world to make it worthwhile putting up with that.
  10. I always thought they were there to simplify the engineer's job of filtering out cross bleed to the microphones.
  11. Lots to do but you are breaking it down well so far.
  12. I'll share that stigma with you Jack. I was gobsmacked... but in a good way.
  13. @Si600 I'm a bit confused. We have this topic which has a list of names (quoted above) that does not tally with the names at the events page where there are a few more than here. I think some members are choosing one or other web page but not both. Remaining optimistic, I hope to see you there on Saturday
  14. Before we fall out, I'd like to say that I haven't mentioned 'bikes. I have mentioned two cars that have Yamaha engines in. Carry on.
  15. You want to decapitate five Gordon Sumners? I know Message in a Bottle was overplayed at the time of release but don't you think that's a bit harsh? Heeheehee The headless five in my siggy file was less than £300 new a couple of years ago. It was my transition instrument going from fours to fives. Genuine entry level Steinies aren't that expensive. That's what's in my siggy file image alongside a Hohner copy of the original Steiny paddle bass.
  16. I'm still not sure. My housemate might give me a lift but it depends on how his arthritis is on the day.
  17. The 1800cc Yamaha engine that is in the Toyota Corolla T-Sport is also used in one of the Lotuses. The Elise, if I recall correctly. "The 2ZZ-GE in the Elise Elise is coming to America with Toyota's Yamaha-designed 2ZZ-GE in 2004. This is the most recent in a series of Toyota performance engines created by Yamaha. As with the earlier Yamaha-designed Toyota 4A-GE which is the basis of Formula Atlantic racing engines, the 'G' designation of the 2ZZ-GE indicates a 50 degree included valve angle, which is a geometry selected for better breathing and higher performance than the flatter combustion chamber designs which promote lower emissions at the expense of power." From Sands Mechanical Museum
  18. It's not unusual. Most home sound system packages are let down by the speakers. Note that I did not say HiFi nor HiDef systems although sometimes improvements can be made.
  19. Isn't the Toyota engine actually made by Yamaha?
  20. I'd favour the notion of a separate template for your neck pocket and another for your pickups simply because it allows you to make another body with a different configuration next time. For example you might want to do a 4 or a 5 string neck. You might want J or P pickups in various combinations. It's a more flexible way of working. You just need to use the same datum points to locate template to body on every build. Oh. Before I forget. A wise man once said: "You can never have enough clamps." (Nods in Andyjr's direction)
  21. Welcome Paul. There are many knowledgeable folk here. One who I've recently seen answer a similar type of question is @Bassassin. He'll be aware of your query now that I've invoked the site paging system by putting the ampersand in front of his screen name. Any images you can supply would help.
  22. A Ricky puts me in mind of DeLorean. Visually impressive but I'd never own one. That is all.
  23. I've just seen this on another design. The Stonefield Stinger.
