  1. Hahahahaha. No pressure then.
  2. I like it a lot. With the oddest proportions I have ever seen on a fiddle it's looking proper funky. No leopardskin jacket for this one... ...unless you are the possessive type and you don't want your new squeeze showing leg to just anyone that is.
  3. Alternatively, make a very large pick guard in the colour you want. (Sometimes this is known as a top)
  4. I used to do the music shop shuffle myself. Often, lots of other youths would be slapping away. This was all done on unplugged basses so it was pointless trying out one if you didn't do slap yourself simply because you couldn't hear it above the clickety click that was present all around! You couldn't beat 'em so you had to join 'em. The truth be known, I was known more for influencing people away from the bass altogether I'm afraid. I have one of Level 42's early albums (the second I think) on four track cassette. I think MK was a carpet fitter before that. I loved it. L42 had just got The Chinese Way onto TOTP but I preferred the earlier material. I still do.
  5. Welcome Ownheart. Site Rules I've never heard of a 1/4 sized upright. I can only imagine it to be a bit like an upright violin. Got any photos?
  6. Crikey. You must have had forearms like Popeye!
  7. Welcome Mozzer. I've always wanted to meet a trombonist. I'd have got one myself if I didn't think I might over extend myself.
  8. Beautiful. Again, the headstock is the equal to the body in terms of form. Often they can take second place and let down the overall effect. Enjoy the SW Bash. You have something really special for them.
  9. Great headstock detail. Did you shim the neck in the final event? I noticed it was angled slightly.
  10. That is worth remembering. Thank you.
  11. What about unseen benefits like more bookings than for the shorter gigs?
  12. Welcome Bob. You will find this useful then. Thank you for reminding me of my two years in boarding school. The place was run by priests and nuns and I could not wait to get away from the place. I hated the day boys because they did not have to live with the religious stuff that we had to endure. Your experience sounds a lot better than mine.
  13. I think you need more help than Basschat can provide. Heeheehee, if that image was haunting my thoughts I'd apply for a full lobotomy. IT'S FUGLY (I can see it appealing to Jazzers though) Where does Heather leave her smalls for people to look at when she's not in Spain?
  14. The knobs are a success. Elsewhere today, someone said something like; guitars should be fiesta red and basses should be understated. The sentiment still works here. Gold and burl suit this guitar. I'd take it down for a play if it was in a shop. It wouldn't be so attractive on a bass. I wish your client many happy years with this instrument.
  15. Yes. I remember them for crappy TV adverts mainly. (My one and only senior moment has not actually ended yet.)
  16. There isn't quite enough of that these days I find.
  17. Can't you post that festival clip off of YT? We're all used to amateur movies here. It wasn't great on quality but I enjoyed it anyway. It's a pity that I didn't keep the link. I hope you do get some of your set recorded for promos. If only for posterity, it's worth it.
  18. Four and a half hours? You are a machine. Heeheehee
