  1. Official news just in: "CF IS NO GOOD FOR METAL" ©2025 Daily Snail
  2. Given that you are marketing CF necks elsewhere on the forum, I will assume you have good knowledge of the resins and matting that are used with this composite material. On aircraft. electrical bonding of panels with conductive straps is essential to conduct lightning strikes away from critical systems. How conductive are those panels (in this case, the rails) if manufactured from CF when compared with glass fibre reinforced resin?
  3. I like these too. That's sent me off down a rabbit hole for a bit.
  4. Isn't she still doing bird for selling skunk to a spider called Anansi. You must have read about it. It was all over the web.
  5. One thing that I do like is the use of rolling saddles. It makes more sense to me than having rollers built into the nut on a conventionally strung bass.
  6. I suppose you can still pitch bend behind the nut but it doesn't look as easy as with a Status like bend well. Short-sighted? As previously pointed out, those tuners are just asking to be damaged. Needs improvement. Pass.
  7. It's a good half step forward Rob. Lots of claims are made about 3d printing with plastics. The big drawback seems to be - plastic. It's fine for a lot of things but very poor at one or two. I've followed your progress with great interest and the thing that is becoming apparent is that it is ideal for development of complex designs and so forth but not really suited to production. Also, you are having to use materials other than plastic to make your guitars work. It complicates things somewhat. The overall designs are exotic and versatile but the modular approach to assembly is an obvious issue as is how to make the finish a little less plasticky. It's a tough nut to crack but I have every confidence in you to persevere.
  8. If they deliver, keep both. Unless they've made you sign an agreement to return the original of course.
  9. Welcome PB.
  10. Simple. Just buy another bass that covers all the tones you think you'll need.
  11. Relax. It could've been worse. You might have typed pickplate.
  12. Annoying maybe. Despite that, it sounds like a good life/work balance.
  13. I don't think so. I.T. generally has made it difficult to relax after work. You might have work related SMS items to deal with on your own time. You might have bosses who don't sleep and can't understand that normal people NEED sleep. Similarly, on holiday, it is hard to get away from it all now that comms providers have made roaming charges more attractive to their customers. The way I look at it; The internet and all of the devices connected to it are dependant on electricity. The makers have left out one important thing - the OFF switch. Standby is seen to be the same thing except it isn't. When I go out of a room, I switch the light OFF. I do the same with mobile comms and data. I have no need to carry it with me. Go and enjoy your holiday. When you come back I am sure the melodrama will have developed sufficiently for you to deal with then.
  14. That's really nice. I may have to grow my beard out again like Lee.
  15. We're looking at The 2026 Midlands Bass Bash being held at Bentley Heath. Relax. Take a deep breath, hold it then slowly exhale while letting go of all those imaginary gremlins scampering around your mind. Now you can do your troubleshooting at leisure. See you there?
  16. Good man! Then it can run with the right year in the title. Also, it can serve the whole of The Midlands and a bit of Whales.
  17. If instead, Tracey Emin had showed us that bed... well that would be art.
  18. I agree. Not great for their rep.
  19. If you pay in full for something, what gives the manufacturer any right to demand it back? They are also selling you something. It is cheeky, at best. I'd challenge that. Unless I'd signed an agreement to such an "exchange", I'd ask them to make a straight swap new for old if they insisted on exchanging parts.
