  1. I enjoyed it. It was interesting to learn of Ian Dury's earlier band Kilburn and the High Roads. Also the musicians that were going in the same circles as Nick Lowe and Brinsley Schwarz. Plus one on Noddy's commentary. I still love him though.
  2. ...and targetted ones at that. I'm with you on that. If I pay extra for TV I don't want to make myself a commercial target. Quite the opposite. Viewers put up with far too much commercial rubbish as it is.
  3. @Raslee, I bet soon you will be going mwah*. Great neck refurbishment! *No not just with the fretless. Mwah as in socially distanced air kissing.
  4. Judging from the response, I'd say so, yes. And here. Freesat 147. Freesat is all we want. We have Freeview as well if we choose but Channel 4 music is about the only thing that has over the dish box so we hardly ever bother. We don't stream. With a PVR and the repeats and the +1 hour channels there is no need. Anything genuinely worth watching will eventually trickle down to the free services. It's only telly at the end of it. How much of it do you need?
  5. Is this the @Bassworks bass that he's mentioned on another build thread? Cool.
  6. I know a good home for it and all. Just saying. Heeheehee
  7. I think that's actually called a fleet of Corvettes. There's even a navy one in the middle.
  8. I wish you many happy hours of playing with it.
  9. It's got to sound good though. Fibre neck and EMGs. Passive?
  10. Okay but it would be a shame to lose the contrast in my opinion. The carbon weave on the pickguard sits lovely with the neck.
  11. Nice pickguard on the right hand example. I don't normally like them as a personal choice but that's got a good shape to it.
  12. It does sound odd for a B3. Although I've not gigged, I am very happy with the sound through either 'phones or combo.
  13. I wondered. No need to apologise. I get like that with all the new fangled names for applications and web services. At least neither of the applications are named after orbiting pork like m00np1g! If I recall, Jamulus is not a peer to peer network. Hmmm. I may well contact you and @hiram.k.hackenbacker. I can't say when but thank you both.
  14. Are you doing it for the sound or for the appearance? I imagine the bridge sound will be thinner on the heavier strings and the blend with the neck pickup will allow you to taper off the bottom end or thicken it up before you even touch the tone controls. I'm wondering if the blend works a bit like a midrange sweep.
  15. Oh and it's now a viola... Heeheehee
  16. Thanks Pete. I'll keep it in mind. By the way, the Jamkazam site mentions limitations on the free version and there are premium services. It doesn't appear to support Linux. That might be a deal breaker. I've got almost all the requirements to set up now but for a low bandwidth. The Post Office supply my line and they've managed to award themselves a forty percent rise this year without justification. I have to be in the right frame of mind before I tell them how much better I could do with another service provider. It's a bit tricky because I won't be needing the high capacity broadband that they're all trying to sell with all the bells and whistles. All I need is a landline and a mid capacity bandwidth. I don't use wifi at all so that's one less thing to slow down the connection Oh, and a better interface. I just have a Zoom B3 at the moment. I might be ready in a couple of weeks or a couple of months depending on how much time I get to apply myself to setting up.
  17. Lots of members are reporting back favourably on HB projects. Yours looks well thought out with some well chosen hardware. I agree with Paul; it's not pointless at all. You've ended up with something quite respectable for the outlay whilst learning some of the ins and outs. No doubt you are already thinking about your next.
  18. That's going to look so good in sunlight or stage lighting. It's already captivating.
