  1. It's not a well defined area seemingly. Generally though, shorties are more popular than ever.
  2. One of those would make a great turntable stand though. If you like the smell of creosote.
  3. The term Barncaster reflects the shape of the instrument. I'm wondering what the general term is for the style where recycled (and flawed) timber is used in a variety of body shapes. If it is a thing that is. I agree with @stewblack that it isn't relicing in the strictest sense.
  4. My understanding was that short scale is usually 32" or less. Can you clarify please?
  5. Not sure why, but I am finding that quite attractive, and I usually NEVER go for any of that there 'relic' nonsense. I'm knot a fan. I wanted to ask however if that is what the young people call "steam punk" these days
  6. One day they'll invent this thing called a telephone...
  7. ^This is the point.^ Make sure you use a key that fits well and make sure there is no crap in the socket* to stop you putting the key fully home. It's good practice with any threaded fastener. Also, you might find that the truss rod adjuster is harder to turn than you expect. In that case you can slacken the strings to take the string tension out of the system. It should help. Welcome to the forum JB. *It's an internal wrenching fastener. It's harder to recover a stripped one of these than it is with an external wrenching fastener such as a screw or a bolt.
  8. I've never seen tuners with knobs on before.
  9. Crafty. How are you going to place the strap button(s)? I am assuming that without one or two at the bridge end, the tuners will be prone to striking the floor when someone inevitably assumes it's okay to put the instrument directly on the floor and lean it against something.

    Hi..

Welcome Yorick... assuming you are not jesting that is.
  11. Again, those few nuggets of information have made a lot of sense to me where folk have spoken volumes before and got nowhere with me. Thank you.
  12. None taken... heeheehee. You'll do fine my friend Bonne chance.
  13. Welcome Sam. You'll find the Build Diaries interesting.
  14. ... having first shªt in his slippers. (Possibly OTT?)
  15. Very kind. Thank you. I'm glad you kept it a matt finish. It looks bang up to date and smart.
