  1. I agree. They fit with the overall look but I'm an engineer. They don't sit comfortably with me. Are they brass? Do you have them lacquered to slow the tarnishing effect?
  2. I liked that walk through a LOT.
  3. I don't like tort. Apart from that they both look fine.
  4. Edit: As previously mentioned: Are you using the same gauge strings for each pair? Otherwise I don't think that statement is right. You may find the higher frets sound discordant with paired octaves.
  5. I like most of it. What stops me in my tracks is the brass wood screws. I understand that using ten fasteners means you don't need the same tightening torque as you would with fewer of them. Nevertheless, brass screws with plain slot heads are a bit arty-farty, if you will forgive me for saying. Even if they're goldie looking mild steel, they're a poor choice just to keep everything to a colour scheme. You can buy internal wrenching coloured stainless steel screws here for example.
  6. I have to agree as well. The work here is right down to the nitty gritty both in the woodwork and the electronics. It's more usual to see one or other of the two skills in a build thread but this is a real treat for having both aspects of the build so beautifully worked out.
  7. I have to point out that the havoc was already here in the form of the DoI thread. Extra havoc is not necessarily covered by the site's insurers.
  8. Mine's a pint, ta.
  9. If only someone had a surgical truss handy...
  10. Anyway... OT: Some volutes are bigger than others.
  11. Priceless.
  12. As OP, you are entirely within your rights to hold your hands up to the mods and respectfully ask their forgiveness for taking the weewee. I'm quite sure they'll lock it if you ask them nicely.
  13. Dr Mondeaux too I hope. Try not to eviscerate the ophthalmologist before he's done, even if your sight does improve enough to do so.
  14. Not the body... no. Has anyone seen @Raymondo lately?
  15. Shhh! Andy's going to be back any minute and we'll all get lines if he catches us out of our seats mucking about.
  16. Do you reckon Bob's head would look like Ben's if you shaved off the afro?
  17. Lovely. I have some of my Grandad's stuff. One of my favourite things in the workshop is his pocket knife. He always seemed to have it on him. Seemingly on a whim, he would get it out and prune the raspberries, roses or owt else that needed a sharp knife. He'd have it back in his pocket by the time you'd realised what he was up to.
  18. I'm liking what appears to be a seal around the cavity edge. Is that right?
  19. Apart from Vinnie, Michael's about the only one there that I liked. I stopped watching after Vinnie left.
  20. Silent Movies are back! Hooray! I really enjoyed that.
  21. I don't mind you lot relentlessly extracting the Michael either. Not that anyone asked.
  22. I do too. You have to admit though, he's a bit of a middle class fashion hero. It's a good thing I can see past that as he has taught me a few things I would not have known otherwise.
  23. Entrapment.
  24. Why are you trying to distract me for 25 minutes? What are you up to? Heeheehee. This chap cracks me up. @Ben of Crimson Custom Guitars; If you're watching - Sorry. I do appreciate your work, it's just difficult not to think of the sketch below while watching your clips.
