Well my brothers and sisters in Basschat... Whatever happens, I have made acquaintance with so many good people. I have met up in real life with some interesting characters and we've had a good natter and a laugh. I even regard some of you to be my friends because you have indulged my clumsy attempts at wit, listened to my woes and responded in ways that show me I am not alone after all that's happened in the last few years. TLDR Basschat has seen me and many others through times of crisis both nationwide and personal. Sure it is a Bass oriented forum but it has become so much more over the years to so many people. There is no shortage of knowledge about our favoured instrument in its many forms and at all levels of expertise here. Off Topic annoys some folk but no-one is asking them to look at it. It is their choice. The site has been very well run throughout the time I have been here. I don't even visit any of the other big fora, much less pay a sub. ... Hell no! I won't go. I will join any reasonable campaign to prevent this proposal from killing what we've got. Too much regulation is tying the good guys' hands behind their backs while the bad guys just work around the regs and carry on with impunity. Is there any link that I may have missed in earlier posts for people to express their dissatisfaction to Dotty the Gov? Please point me at it if there is.

I'd say that's worked well. Of course you will know where there are imperfections but you are the closest person to the instrument most of the time. I don't think others would notice owt but the fact you have branded rather than applied your mark. The job's a good 'un.

Welcome Ruby. Are podcasts in your area of expertise? A few of us did a trial for a Basschat in 2018. We made a couple of episodes* before it fizzled out for a variety of reasons. @ped could tell you more... *If you are interested I believe they are still available here somewhere.
