  1. Dang! I have no TLRTs to award. All spaffed out again. IOU 1 x Laffing TLRT.
  2. That we do agree on. I mean slap is not the same without a bit of tickle. It's just cheese without the pickle.
  3. No need to excuse me, I have a rep to maintain after all. I was the bad boy of a major aeronautical engineering publishing office... I was Technical Arthur! Fear me. (See fig 1) Fig 1
  4. Amazing. It is little wonder Bowie had so many space cadets following him when you read that. However... I'd like to point out that, at the time David, Captain Tom's spaceship would have had less computing power than a washing machine much less the merest glimpse of a notion of the direction in which it needed to go. So there.
  5. Now that you've dressed it a bit it is looking good. That will be an asset for lots of workpieces. A slurry and buff finish after you've christened it with coffee stains perhaps?
  6. Let's hope no-one swaps their kazoos* for Shewees®. I've never licked one myself and I'm not about to either. *If you've never seen a kazoo and a Shewee® side by side you might want to familiarise yourself with their respective functions before you decide that they are interchangeable.
  7. I found that oddly comforting. Without wanting to sound both racist and geographically incorrect it reminded me of pleasant family evenings dining at a Chinese restaurant in Dun Laoghaire in the early seventies. I was ten.
  8. The Kids Are All Right. Oh really? So you can ask a question of any child and get both a truthful and factual answer every time. Okaaaaay...
  9. That's the very nature of TAB. It's open to interpretation whereas notation (score) locks down the finer details if you can be ãrsed to learn it. Even then however, you won't often find a definitive set of notes and measures for a popular song in TAB or even score without paying... and even then it may not be the version that you have in mind. I use my ear to try and fill in the blanks. A fellow member, @PaulWarning, recommends that you play the tune at a slightly higher speed than normal without pitch correction. That way the bassline is pulled into a more audible frequency range and should stand out better. Covers... should you aim for accuracy or something that you can handle and still carry it off? Sounds like a new thread in the making. Remember, what seems right today may not seem so tomorrow. Relax a little and develop your style.
  10. The Zebrano would be a nice touch. It emphasizes grain in the smaller area of the headstock where Ash might not reveal much grain. What does your son think?
  11. You weren't there when it all kicked off in Ireland were you...? RTE archives
  12. But Hebburn must be missing an angel, right? Tavares said so but Ms Lennox disagrees. She insists that There must be an angel. Who do you believe? I mean... Annie's a Scot so she's at an advantage, geographically speaking, to most seventies American R&B, funk and soul bands.
  13. Seriously though, I thought Murder Most Foul was a poor attempt to recreate Hurricane. Although I like some of his stuff, Hurricane being the main one, I'm not a fan
  14. I liked him best as the rabbit on Magic Roundabout.
