  1. That's got to be one of the longest couplets I have ever seen.
  2. I'm fairly sure that the part that is proud of the body does not add strength, just mass. I'm glad you tweaked your bridge.
  3. Is that a reference to Twiggy?
  4. Good as some of the quotes are... they don't quite hold up when they're there in black and white. In fact some of them can look quite pretentious, especially when taken out of context like this. I think a great vocalist can make ANY combination of words sound good however. Consider: Then listen to the narrative. The Boy has little to do with the story. The narrative is by a girl who doesn't care about her bo's reputation, she is that hot for him. She then goes on: Oh really? You mean you won't become a bunny boiler somewhere down the line? Okayyyyyyy. Takes one to know one duck.
  5. Flippin' well phenomenal! The understated logo on the truss nut cover, the side dots without front facing dots, the demarcation veneer behind the spalted headstock face and back. It's wonderful. Why are you not world famous for this? Your consistency and output is remarkable.
  6. @Andyjr1515 has just been writing about that somewhere. He approaches from either side of the workpiece to get the through holes right for alignment of the ferrules.
  7. Welcome to the forum Neal. This is turning out to be an interesting tale. Are you also a bassist?
  8. Welcome Stubs. I hope your garage is damp proofed.
  9. Good work. It illustrates how individual bridges need careful laying out. In particular, the taper from the nut to the bridge must be quite difficult to measure and cater for. I'm bearing that in mind for when I use those myself.
  10. Welcome Andy.
  11. It's not every bass builder that would show you close ups of one of his nuts. Much appreciated mister.
  12. Retrospectively speaking: I've still got my three links but one of my images has gone missing to be replaced by an unsightly text placeholder. I want to keep the three links but if I edit, the site will not allow me to keep all three of my (tiny) links. It might be because, on reading this site issue, I tried to remove one image out of the two I had but wasn't allowed to save the file. The reason seems to be because I haven't deleted a link as well. I left the file unsaved and assumed it would remain unchanged. Not so. I now have one image, three links and a text placeholder for an image that is no longer required. Am I now stuck with the text placeholder because I won't voluntarily remove any of my links?
  13. Good question...
  14. Yes. It's here. I've also just built a Frankenstein bass I call a YamaCore.
  15. Welcome Alan.
  16. No. That's haemorrhoids.
  17. We owned a Vauxhall Chevette in the eighties (I know). It was Arctic White. It was a readily available colour at the motor factors then too.
  18. Another Pitbull IB5 builder. Nice.
  19. Ahhh. Back to bassics.
  20. Good luck. I'm interested to see how durable this jig will be. Then you said: Why didn't I think of that before? I'll just go and find mine. Heeheehee More seriously, is there a reason you can't use the cutter engraver directly on a fretboard? Is it just going to cut right the way through or what?
  21. Welcome back Steve.
  22. Striking combination of grain and ash detail. Very nice.
  23. I'm scared of mandolin(e)
