  1. Basschat, how I love you! Obviously I now have more questions! Is a 5v supply a bog standard phone charger or something else? I am happy to use whatever but do not want to roll in to the service with the wrong piece of kit!
  2. I know that bus powering is big and clever but I need an interface with an external PSU. We are running a multi camera system in Church using an app called Switcher Studio. It is easy and intuitive. We can pan and zoom remotely with 4 cameras. The problem is that an HDMI out has to come before the USB out using Apple adapters. The power in on the adpaters is not satisfying the power needs of the Focusrite Scarlet I am using at the moment so I cannot get audio in there to sync. I need an interface which has an external PSU. I did use an old Lexicon but eventually it did what old things do and started making nasty "scratching" noises. All I have found so far is a Steinberg UR-RT2 which would do it but at £279 made me wince a bit. Can anyone point me in the direction of something cheaper? TIA.
  3. If they spent even a tenth of the time on bass that they spent on kick drum then it might be worth the effort. I mean, it could be that my tone is so awesome that nothing needs changing. But we know that is not the case.
  4. It looks like I have too many pictures on the thread already to upload any video. It was going so well. I am happy to email you a vid if you want one.
  5. Rubbish advert, huh? The gig blade is also in VVVGC. I will do a quick vid of it now.
  6. I have way too many gig bags. I need them all for all the basses I have which I need to take to all my sessions. Cos producers are always saying "that is great, but do you have anything with a different vibe?". So, yeah, Gator G PG Bass Pro-Go Ultimate Bass Guitar Gig Bag. Not brand new but VVVGC. White on the inside £70 posted Sold Gig Blade bag. Well Funky. Orange on the inside. £110 posted
  7. The CLF stuff looks great. And G&L finishes are a cut above. I could get quite emotional about a CLF L2500 in clear orange or one of their Metal Flakes with matching headstocks.
  8. Just very sh-moooooothe.
  9. We all love to to believe that our favourite makers have that special sauce, but pickups are magnets and wire wound around them. Allan does this really well and for a good price compared to lots of the "names" out there.
  10. I have used Allan for various projects and he always comes up trumps.
  11. All that stuff is way beyond me but it also foxed 3 very experienced techs.
  12. 1. So that the player can whip up to the top and play swooping fretless. or 2. 70's Fender necks do a thing called ski jumping where the end of the neck kind of starts sticking up. My 73P neck has an element of it. The frets at the top have been taken down a bit and it is not an issue. Also I do not play above the 5th fret.
  13. If they had used corresponding colours on both pickups I would believe that they knew what they were doing.
  14. I know that people get all excited about mixing different cabs and drivers etc etc. I had an NV610 back in the day. I paired it with a Boogie 1516 driven by an SWR SM400. It was just air shifting perfection. I think your NV215 deserves a special friend.
  15. It's a beautiful thang.
  16. AND one for flats!
  17. This ticks so many boxes it is unreal. This is serious bargain o'clock. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bill-Fitzmaurice-Designed-Simplexx-2x12-Bass-Cab-with-Beyma-SM212-12-Drivers/324530511836?hash=item4b8f869fdc:g:LfsAAOSwqVBgVfFN I know there is a forum for this, but I guess it is one of the obscurer corners of the site. I have no afiliation to the seller but would already own it if it was not a 12 hour round trip.

    Luna Bass

    Ver, ver funky.
  19. Can you guess what I might say here? Nothing you have not heard already.
  20. That would be a fabulous cab. If I was within striking distance I could not stop myself.
  21. Once I worked out that converting it to a 5 string was my stupidest idea this year so far, I was out. I nearly drilled the headstock of the BW P I used to own.
  22. I have 10+. Each bass has a really specific sound, which cannot be replicated with another bass. The subtle differences really add to expression possibilities which will enhance all the different situations I play in, in specific ways. Until anyone else starts playing, and my earplugs go in. Then they all do the same thing. Some go lower than others, but that really is it.
  23. I had a 10 second burst of buying that P and putting a 5 string neck on it. I am over it now, but it was exciting!
  24. We will be needing full pictures of the Bravewood re-finish.
