  1. As in actual Volts (or whatever I am meant to say here!). I am trying to sort out stuff and would like to know in numbers whether one of my basses is SUPER HOT on output or whether my problem is elsewhere. Do I put a multimeter across a jack plug? TIA.
  2. I bought it becuse I wanted THE BEST. How wrong I was.
  3. I had one of those and it did exactly the same thing. It came off the bass pretty quickly. I gave the spare parts to @silverfoxnik about 15 years ago. It is DEEPLY unlikely that he still has them, but you know that we are all hoarders.............................
  4. I keep 2 basses at work. One is a Mazeti 5 string fitted with two beefy Villex pickups. Vol/Vol/passive mid cut/tone. Neck through 35" and very nice. I also keep an MTD Kingston 5er there. I LOVE the MTD neck and feel. I want another. If no one has one my world will still turn but it does not hurt to ask. I am not looking for a sale cos I will just need to replace it. I just want another MTD Kingston and they do not come up often.
  5. I have no use for this but find it strangely seductive......

I am not one for the single cut as it has developed on basses but the Ritter Princess Isabella Bass TOTALLY floats my boat.
  7. Ex bass uke. I would love to try it. I cannot deny I am tempted.
  8. I got my black Friday mixed up and got all spendy last Sat.
  9. It would be rude not to. The noise supression for spoken word in the RX is worth the price admission alone.
  10. Don't worry. You can buy new speakers. Your ears are another matter......
  11. You say it is very blingy like that is a bad thing. That is going STRAIGHT onto my Ebay watchlist.
  12. Filming Bods!!!!! What do I use to mount a DJI Osmo 2 to a tripod stand. I know Google should tell me, but I cannot find it
  13. Be careful, you are going to be getting requests.......
  14. "Did you ever see Hendrix play live? No, but he saw me." That is a pretty small club and it gets smaller still when you can express it well on the page. Great writing.
  15. I saw Nate Smith + Kinfolk in London a few years ago. I have never seen such ensemble work. I used to think that mistakes were a bad thing, but in this kind of stuff if you are not making mistakes you are not trying hard enough. There was the odd musical ripple but they rode them with a smile and easy grace. It was just sublime. There was Miles Davies in the Festival Hall in London in '91. The whole band was astounding. I stood there thinking "what he is playing makes no sense, and yet it is fabulous". I felt like I was walking on air for 3 days afterwards
  16. I librated one of the QSC K10.2 boxes last night to bring home for the weekend. It is quite the thing.
  17. I can offer no technical assistance, but would add "while wearing proper moulded ear-plugs" to the title.
  18. I also crave a flake finish so am subbing to this thread. I wanted this one, but the £/$ and CITIES said no. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/musicman-bongo-5hh-marty-bell-western-blue-big-sparkle-flake-finish.1265232/
  19. We are just having the building networked properly so the wifi should be rock-solid within our 4 walls. What it does outside is WAY beyond my control! I had thought of the whole nicer cameras/HDMI option but that would mean buying nicer cameras which would add to the expense. This is a toe in the water excercise and if it turns out to be not for us then the kit can be shifted fairly easily and a solid % of the £ recouped. If we do get excited about doing it then we can re-tool further down the line. Also, people can learn the software at home and become operators with minimal training. I really was thinking about the "user-friendlyness" aspect of it. If we have to borrow cameras to do it then that would be yet another thing to set up for us on the day - and that is reliant on nicer camerss loaners actually being there. This seems to answer where we are for now. I am slowly learning that not everyone wants to get as tech-y as I do. This has been a long road!
  20. To continue the filming question, it looks like we are going with Switcher Studio, two iPods and two DJI Osmo Gimbals. If they are all on the same wifi network the iPods can be automatically panned and zoomed from the iPad and stuff like that - this includes iPods broadcasting to the iPad. No need for cableing all over the place. Switcher Studio is a £30 per month Sub. We shall see.

  22. Old school led sled. The same tone stack as an Alembic pre-amp and loads of headroom. It constantly suprises me that we do not all own one.
