  1. Basschat. It does not have the answers to everything, but it has answers to lots of things
  2. I have one of these. It is just lovely to play. It is light, the neck carve is the most comfortable I have played. I am a bass tart so it will not happen in the near future, but if my MTD was the only bass I had I would be content. The electronic upgrades will make this a fabulous machine. (I upgraded the electronics in mine).
  3. Our kitchen is oak so that would be an option.
  4. Thanks everyone. I could do Danish Oil. I have actually done a bass in Danish Oil so I know what I am doing. This is unusual for me. Utile looks like it could be nice but depending on the plank (like all wood I guess). I have some Sapele (similar apparently) planks for handrails and they are a bit bland. Dunno. But I do appreciate the input though. The Epoxy thing looks interesting but for a 6ft table top it looks like a pretty specialist thing to do given the heating needed (according to YT) etc. Corian is nice, but it is not wood
  5. He was due to tour with Steely Dan this summer. I believe the band were gutted about the cancellation. The bassist also plays keys/guitar/B Vox for Jamiroquai.
  6. Obviously you will be hanging out in the build forum!
  7. You are all my wood experts. I am aware that this is stretching the purpose of this sub-forum. I need a new kitchen table. I can get some chunky legs here https://www.thehairpinlegcompany.co.uk/products/box-section-trapizum?variant=31350000877702&gclid=CjwKCAjwyo36BRAXEiwA24CwGXc_Oi6fX0Doj4FnZPX1iQHAVqcF3TLxqkvkxr4Nl4fCZKSRfPFCYxoC_FoQAvD_BwE. This means I could get a top made of some nice wood. Not sure what yet. In a perfect world I would have a table which would be completely waterproof so that we would not have to faff with mats and stuff. Heatproof would be beyond fabulous but I suspect that is not to be. Is there anything I can put on it which will not make it look like plastic but will protect it?
  8. Hi Malc, As you and I know, North Wales is where it is at! Hwyl, Owen
  9. I am glad Portsmouth is so far away from me because I would have trouble being sensible about this!
  10. I made some wood shavings with my spokeshave to get our new firepit lit. I suspect I have reached the zenith of my woodworking career.
  11. I played this in a Bass Bash. It is proper lush. I mean REALLY fine.
  12. Don't worry. As we always say on Basschat Gold, less is more.
  13. Scott Dixon ones are in the same price bracket (550 or make offer on Ebay, new) and are silver and shiny. I have a Scott Dixon pedal board and it is just a lovely piece of kit. If I was in the market for anything like this I would be all over a Scott Dixon like a bad rash. I have often fancied a 2nd hand 3 bass one just cos they are cool. I am pretty sure they will make whatever you want.
  14. That sounds like no fun I am of course joking.
  15. That might well have been me. It is the sound you hope a Piezo will make.
  16. It is 62mm x 29mm (give or take a mm due to my focus not being what it was in the olden days . I have attached the spec/install instructions. Headphone Amp v1.2.pdf
