    Lights! <swoon>
  3. They are funky and I like them!
  4. Not to worry, I might get something built one day.
  5. I did buy two. I then opened one of the intended basses and realised that it would not go in with the East Uni-pre in there already.
  6. Jaco did not need LEDs. However, they are just superb on a dark stage.
  7. As is playing with someone who is not a drummer but is sitting behind the kit. There have been times when I would have happily paid someone to come in.
  8. You have trained her well.
  9. But I do reserve the right to do something impractical and stupid.
  10. It is the best option, but it will not be lush. Mind you a set of 5 nice ones and 2 x brass plates and fitting would be............ a lot
  11. Guilty as charged. My problem is that the machines I have actually rattle on one of the elephant ears to the extent that when I go an record I have to wrap it in gaffa. Obviously this is not a good look but more importantly it really annoys me when a part of my kit does not work properly. I guess I could just take it off and get it welded properly, but pretty things are pretty...............
  12. I have an East Preamp and it is a joy. I had another 36" sixer refurbed a few years ago (don't ask) and they put a new Overwater pre in that. It cut and boosted in all the right places and was also a thing of joy.
  13. I am just a tart for shiny things.
  14. I am sure that there are people all over the place playing multi-scale fretlesses with ease. However, I would see it as challenging at the very least.
  15. Thanks all. I am also averse to hacking the side of the guitar to install a preamp. The soundhole option looks best at the moment. Those Fishman ones do look a bit suspicious But the proper ones look attractive enough. The endpin option is attractive but I would like access to a vol control so I guess a shop bought Fishman option seems to be winning at the moment. https://www.fishman.com/products/series/matrix/matrix-infinity-vt/ However the Artec stuff is 40% (ish) of the price and seems fine. I shall do further research. Ta everyone
  16. I used to do PA for one of my bands. Big is fabulous, but small is truly beautiful. It is beautiful when you are loading your car to go to the gig, it is beautiful when you are loading into the venue, it is beautiful when you are loading after the gig and it is SUPER beautiful as you unpack the car at 3am when you get home. Cos you cannot leave it in the car because it will get stolen. It also means you do not have to be driving a truck to carry everything. If the band buys and carries individual bits then that is bigly beautifuller still because you all share the load both moving wise and financially. Passive speakers and cabs are great but - added bulk to move around. More faff setting up. Analogue desks are great cos you can see everything, but digital is small, super versatile and does what you would need a 10U rack of outboard to do with an analogue desk. Chuck a Samson headphone amp and some headphone extension leads into the mix (er case) and you can IEM for really not much money (£35 per head). And not carry wedges around. That is beautiful as well. And they are cheaper than wedges. A decent pair of active Studiospare/Mackie/Yamaha/QSC/RCF/other things would do really good things. Go the sub route as well by all means. The amount of bands I have seen which were just too loud for the venue are myriad. Musos often want everything at the max. Punters really do not dig that in the pub. If you do a gig in a bigger venue hire a PA in. No point in owning enough kit to do Wembly but use it twice a year and store it for the rest of the time. Space cost money. Yes, I have string feelings about this topic.
  17. My (!) builder taught me that the finest finishing abrasive is a sheet of clean paper and I have used that several times to smooth off stuff. Check me out offering advice in the build forum!
  18. I have a Seagull Acoustic which I like. It has a piezo under the bridge but no onboard preamp. I fancy an onboard preamp cos I like everything to be in one place. Any suggestions?

The Korg G5 followed whatever was happening very easily. And you could have 9 memory slots. I miss the G5.
