  1. I taught someone who bought an NS5 loaded with them. This was many years ago and it is entirely possible that the bass eq was whacked up on them, but they felt really nice and sounded silky.
  2. B is an extra £150 odd. As I said, wowzers.
  3. Wowzers. £250 odd. Without a B. It has been a very long time since I changed strings. That is spendy. Perhaps I will not.
  4. I LOOKED AT THAT SITE! HOW DARE YOU SEE SOMETHING I MISSED!!!!!1!1!! Thank you.
  5. I have looked around but cannot find any info. I am more than capable of missing things though! Can any one tell me what these strings are? The bow really nicely. TIA.
  6. Aha! Carmarthen, not Caernarfon. That make sense. 2 very different places a solid 5 hours apart.
  7. It is astonishing how few people will clock things not working right in our register. In cases where there is ambiguity about the direction things are going, the groove or rhythm is more important than the pitch. Don't get me wrong, playing the correct big letter of the chord is where it is at, but when everything is wobbling, the ability to drag people through rhythmically paramount. We can worry about harmony in the next chorus.
  8. THAT'S THE SPIRIT!!!!
  9. Who knew Caernarfon had a drum maker? Not me and I only live 9 miles away!
  10. I hope you are not doing the half closed stare. I find that quite unsettling.
  11. Guilty as charged. You chose very well indeed.
  12. This a is an FX loop switcher. I have no use for it. The price is just to cover postage as I no longer want to store it.
  13. So, I have had this for a couple of weeks. I played it in Church this morning. I like the string spacing. I have tuned the top two strings to C and F so that my head does not have to do that mental shift like I do on a guitar. I like the whole thing BUT it turns out that playing with a plectrum over an extended period makes me aware of the encroaching arthritis which I am in denial about in my RH index finger. So it is going back to the big German toy store.
  14. Only the buyer can know the secret. It is the law.
  15. Brand new. Never installed. Don't ask.
  16. This is lots of fun with a nice rubbery tone and lush fluidity.
  17. I sent it to Bass Bros. Someone bought it. It turned out that the truss rod had snapped. So I took it back. This was mildly (!) disappointing on a brand new bass. But G&L have a 10 year warranty on their new instruments. I guess this stuff just happens now and again. So they just sent me a new neck. No sweat, no drama. As it happens it has a nicer fingerboard as well. I also had a white pickup cover made cos.....ummm.... I wanted one. However it is still not for me. It is not the bass, it is me. So it is up for sale again discounted to £1200. Like a five string P, but more I will do a picture with the white pickup cover in a moment.
  18. Huw has it going on.

    I like it!
  20. One of my new students today said that his favourite genre was Midwest Emo. I am going to have to do some research. I am happy to let all the dance genres and sub-genres wash over me but this was a challenge.
