There was a blue LP thing of his floating around years ago. On here or what was here before here. It was kind of undulating and pneumatic. It was sublime.

There is a lot to like about this bass. This is a classic rambling about an instrument but not buying it post. But the aesthetics are very classy indeed - yes it is boutique-y but in 10 years time it will still be classy and understated. Some boutique stuff does not age well. This will. It looks beautifully made and I tried a bass with one of those Delanos in it once and it was just superb. I like the double strap buttons for "putting down" stability. Such an obvious thing but so few people do it. And a jack socket which means that you can put it down while plugged in. Weird how unusual that is as well. I shall stop rambling now, but this is lush. -

I have often wondered why Yew was not used more in Lutherie as is intersting to look at. Now I know. The guy who works on my Double Bass made fireplace surrounds out of Yew and very attractive the were.

I had to call on Interparcel insurance recently. Because the bass was packed in a proper transit case (Pelican type) it was fine. But they took 3 months to pay.

The whole book is TOTALLY worth reading. Buy it. Where else would you read (paraphrase) "I was asked if I had seen Hendrix play - I answered 'no, but he saw me'"? Written in the way that makes you read all the way through without putting it down if at all possible.

7th generation super displacement drivers with their hyper efficiency etc etc etc. There is no substitute for surface area shifting air.

One of the interesting things about dealing with people who are experienced players but not theory friendly is that they actually do know a lot but do not know the correct labels.

I sold Jon-Inge an NS5 EUB. The courier was ...................ummm.............. less than great (to the tune of £850ish and really delayed transit) but Jon-Inge was the very epitome of patience and good vibes. The situation was way beyond our control but he was gracious to a fault and what could have been really tricky was just smooth and pleasant. I noticed that he bought that Parker Fly 5 string and I am grateful to him for that as well because that bass was looking at me in a "come and get me" way.

I have been through VERY many basses but I have to admit that I am struggling to remember this one. I went to Norwich in 1984 so that they could refuse me a place at the University and I am 99% certain that I have never taken my family there. I am all for accepting praise wherever and however, but I am not convinced this was me. I could well be wrong though

I have 2 x 5 string 33" and use Newtone strings which make me happy.

I have been subjected to some nasty compression by engineers who do not know what they are doing. Thus, I hate compressors. I love the TC Spectracomp so much that I have one patched in in my residency gig and leave permanently on. I have another on my FX board. I kind of feel guilty about getting that consistency using tech and not through technique.

That was very cool indeed. I shall buy the track and use it as the background for a contemplative video using words for a hymn that is sung on it. I am not sure if my Church is ready for it, but we shall find out.
