  1. I went to the Bassbash. I saw shiny things. I now have to sell things to pay for shiny things. £650
  2. Bump to move this. I saw shiny things in the Bassbash. You know how it is.
  3. I have a Boss SL20 Slicer which enables me to have a kind of machine driven sequence vibe running with the FI. I have only made it happen live once where I slaved it to a sequencer for timing. Sadly my other settings were wrong so we were all washed in a huge wave of pulsing phatness.
  4. BRX is correct. I have a Berg IP which I love dearly (I might have mentioned that?). The sockets, switches and mains are on the back. It is a royal pain. They could go front or side, and I can see issues with both of those, but the back is just inconvenient.
  5. Good times! It is great just to play stuff we all read about but certainly does not exist where I live. Sadowsky, G&L L1000 (Wowzers, whatever is driving that tone is bonkers), Alembic EUB, Mouse, Enfield, Manton, Letts and Shuker. And the Jabbass mini basses. I will be having one of those! Also just putting faces to names. And cakes. Mant thanks to everyone involved in the organising. Did I mention good times?
  6. Career and Poet. Words you do not hear together very often!
  7. The actual HPF aspect of it is great, but it is actually the fact that it just makes everything sound nice that makes me like it. I am open to being schooled here, but any passive instrument likes a high impedance input, no?
  8. Life is too short for poor tone.
  9. I am sitting in a air bnb in Manchester making a weekend of it with the family. Getting everything out of the car, into the lift and up 4 floors was joyous.
  10. Just for completeness I will note on this thread as well that any preamp would be improved with an Fdeck HPF as the first stage of the input.
  11. I have a 3 knob East/ACG preamp in a bass. I fancy a 3 knob Uni pre instead. It has 3 dual pots - Vol/balance filter/thing filter/thing. It works but it is not for me.
  12. I am just looking forward to shaking Jon Shukers hand and thanking him for making one and a half of my favourite basses.
  13. I would certainly be auditioning other cabs with the Fishman/Aguliar combination.
  14. Sad times for us, but this pales into insignificance compared to them so you are doing a good thing!
  15. I am sure a courier would take it. And for surprisingly little money. I used to keep one for buying basses. I would send it empty for 12 quid ish. And it is not as if you would need to wrap it!
  16. In which case borrow some different speakers and see how they work for you. Roll into a bass bash (Midlands one on Sat) and plug into different stuff.
  17. The Fishman Pro would be fine and dandy. Don't get me wrong, new kit is lovely, but you do not always need it.
  18. You would be VERY surprised how much more suitable your present rig would be with an Fdeck HPF at the front end of your signal chain.
  19. He has been talking some sense recently..........
  20. You could put them all on a plastic chopping board and slide them into the front pocket of your gig bag.
  21. I have spent a happy morning plugging in various basses and am coming to the conclusion that I have some basses and some preamps I like better than others. Therefore there is not much reason to keep all of them so I might well have some for sale stuff as well. Not fully decided yet.
