My wife salutes you! She does put up with a lot.
  2. D tuners are the bomb!
  3. Sorry, I think I asked this before, but I cannot remember the answer - or the answer was V3 will have magic in it. If I got a pedal to transmit the correct cc doobrie (as you can tell, I have no idea what that means) can I make the FI sustain, because I presume I could if I was triggering it with a keyboard. If this is possible, would it be possible to make a Helix FX throw out this info? I am not jumping FI ship, but considering a Boss SY1 as well to use as a "sustain" pedal. I am not thinking of making moving sonic soundscapes happen, I would just like to make a long note on my bass last for a LOT longer. Kind of like organ pedals. I have no desire to play over the note. I am a bassist. I look after the bottom end. I have other people for the other stuff. TIA.
  4. I sacked a drummer once. It did not go well.
  5. Is it bad that my first thought was that a bass made by @Jabba_the_gut had made it into the wild? Don't get me wrong, it looks lush.
  6. I also expected it to shift sharpish.
  7. I would be all over that lovely blue Yamaha in the classifieds if I were you.
  8. There is a 5 string ASAT semi acoustic in metalflake gold in the UK somewhere. With matching headstock I think. I think the guy who does Strictly owns it. I need to get out more. I would be all over that like a bad rash if it appeared on the market.
  9. Thanks Kevin. I guessed as much, but ...youknow...new things......
  10. I am sending a bass to Norway. UPS have given me a Customs Invoice. Where on earth do I put that? In the case? On the case in a clear plastic envelope? Can anyone give me guidance? Google cannot - or I have missed it.
  11. Go Bloopdad1 ! As an aside, if an amp is good for Bass Guitar, it is good for Double Bass as long as your pickup is looking at an impedance load it is happy with. A dedicated preamp is all that is needed.
  12. Their finishes are lovely.
  13. That switch is ALL sorts of wrong. Surely that can be done with a rotary switch?
  14. The Behringer P1 has a 9v in so that is immediately easier.
  15. While I am at it, is there a good reason not to use these 9v to battery clips? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ammoon-Battery-Converter-Connector-Female/dp/B06XRNRSC5
  16. I am rationalising kit. I have too much. I have 2 Fdeck HPF boxes which I would like to combine into a metal floor box. I would like to use them as an active AB box for Bass Guitar and Double Bass. I would like an AB footswitch with lights to clue me in with what channel is open. I would like an overall mute footswitch, also lit. I do not need LEDs that can be seen from outerspace. The footswitches need to be electrically silent. All that pop and bang stuff through my amp drives me up the wall! I would want to keep the volumes and the HPFs independent for each channel. I would also like a passive tone roll off on each side, but if that is the stupidest idea it is not a deal breaker. I would also like a balanced DI out. I have a BSS DI box which is willing to sacrifice itself for the greater good. I would also like to plumb a Behringer P2 headphone amp in. And I would like all to work off 9V power supply socket so that it becomes a battery free zone. Am I barking, or is this do-able? I could mount them all onto a piece of wood, but would not have the tidy element I crave and also not footswitchable and mutable etc. I know there are pieces of kit out there which would do this, but I happen to REALLY like what the Fdeck HPF does to piezos and passive basses. This could just be a passing phase as I sift through stuff on a Sunday afternoon.
  17. I have a bass with an all rosewood neck. It is very lush. Everyone should have one.
  18. Is it nearly the end of 2019 already? Surely this thread was only started 3 moths ago. How did that happen?
  19. I am digging this. Nothing clever happening - just a good song and a good arrangement. Which I suppose is the cleverest thing. I shall hunt them out. Thanks.
  20. Fralin J Pickups and a J retro + Shuker build quality. Lots of yum going on there.
