  1. I have a cab I love. It is a Bergantino IP310 and try as I might, nothing else has come close. However, it weighs the same as a small planet. I have been wondering about getting another cab build with the same internal volume but a 3x10 + Horn column rather than the squat box it is now. 1. As long as internal volumes and port sizes are the same it should be much of a muchness? 2. Could anyone recommend anyone to do the actual build? TIA
  2. There is a Thomann one which is all isolated and stuff. https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_2_pro.htm?o=1&search=1552252679 I would welcome an opinion on this. It looks as if it ticks all the boxes.
  3. We have a couple of Tama stands at work. We have had them for maybe 20 years. They are not in their first flush of youth but are the only ones my students have not managed to break.
  4. That gets tired very quickly. It only stops getting tired when you get paid extra to do it.
  5. Of course, I do not actually need to build a bass and already have too many. However.........
  6. I would LOVE to be able to use this offer. I would LOVE to be able to cnc a bass into shape. If I sent you a neck could you do the bizz and then I could hold it in store for the day I build my next bass. I love the profile on my Korean MTD. Could it be scaled down from 35" scale to 33" scale? So many questions!
  7. I have a 3x10 and love it. I have considered having a lightweight cab built in a column stylee with the same internal volume. I used to have an Epifani 3 x 10 and that was lush as well
  8. Yours looks a bit more refined than mine!
  9. La Bella White Nylon flatwounds - got to try them all! These are not for me. All strings extra long, so 38" total from ball to nut. Standard gauge but low tension. 60/70/94/115/135
  10. It could TOTALLY look like that!
  11. If anyone wants to then I have ALL the pieces you need.......
  12. 1new set. I cannot even find a seperate B and C online. £120 One set strung on the bass but not seen a lot of action. £90 A Fishman Platinum Pro preamp £80 - Sold The woodwork is now spoken for but the strings and preamp are still available. I bought a 6 string EUB sight unseen. I am old enough to know better, but SO wanted it to be what was in my head. It is not. The neck has a nice neck in there but it has not been carved out yet. The body is solid. Like REALLY solid. The scroll is a bold statement. If any budding luthier wants it as a DIY project then take it all. But otherwise I am going to asset strip this baby. The fingerboard and bridge are very nice. What it has as salvageable bits are the following 2 x DB machine heads £5 each 2 x sets of Innovation Honey 6 strings sets (B to C).1 A Fishman undersaddle piezo. Which model? I have no idea. There is an earth hum which might or might not be an easy fix £40 - sold There a kind of body extension. Ummmmm........... Fingerboard and bridge £80 sold
  13. Ugh. Now I have colour envy.
  14. On a different tack, I plugged a bass which has weedy B tone into a TC spectracomp (multiband compression in a tiny box) and I had tone to rule the world with a properly integrated B string. And they are dirt cheap.
  15. I am having a very slow day so will spend some time wondering how to make this happen. I guess some sort of singlecut could provide an extra bit of wood to place a pickup in that area.
  16. I had a 36" scale 6 string Overwater strung with a bottom F sharp. It was the clearest bass voice I have ever had. If playing 6 strings did not make my brain go mushy I would have flogged everything else and stayed with it. It was a delight.
  17. Is there a finer Jazz colour scheme? No, there is not.
  18. Word. But I am still going to try again!
