  1. I have just given myself Overwater GAS!
  2. I had an Overwater. I have had VERY many really nice basses. I mean LOADS. Like, more than I care to count or admit to. The Overwater I had was probably the nicest of all of them. It was a 6 string that I had Overwater string up with a bottom F#. If it had not been making my brain melt with one string more than I am used to then I would have flogged the rest and stuck with it. It really was that good. It was from the last century and looked like a piece of G Plan furniture but spoke with a clarity and a "fully produced" tone that sat superbly well in any ensemble.
  3. When one Alembic is not enough!!!
  4. The RCF monitor for sale on here looks like a lot of fun.
  5. D&B are the bomb.
  6. I had an MPU bass - it was sublime. The craftmanship was as good as I have seen anywhere. It taught me that I favour 2 pickup basses otherwise I would still have it.
  7. Bassists. Cos we are the best.

Having said that, a Harp and Piano are not exactly small.

My wife salutes you! She does put up with a lot.
  10. D tuners are the bomb!
  11. Sorry, I think I asked this before, but I cannot remember the answer - or the answer was V3 will have magic in it. If I got a pedal to transmit the correct cc doobrie (as you can tell, I have no idea what that means) can I make the FI sustain, because I presume I could if I was triggering it with a keyboard. If this is possible, would it be possible to make a Helix FX throw out this info? I am not jumping FI ship, but considering a Boss SY1 as well to use as a "sustain" pedal. I am not thinking of making moving sonic soundscapes happen, I would just like to make a long note on my bass last for a LOT longer. Kind of like organ pedals. I have no desire to play over the note. I am a bassist. I look after the bottom end. I have other people for the other stuff. TIA.
  12. I sacked a drummer once. It did not go well.
  13. Is it bad that my first thought was that a bass made by @Jabba_the_gut had made it into the wild? Don't get me wrong, it looks lush.
  14. I also expected it to shift sharpish.
  15. I would be all over that lovely blue Yamaha in the classifieds if I were you.
  16. There is a 5 string ASAT semi acoustic in metalflake gold in the UK somewhere. With matching headstock I think. I think the guy who does Strictly owns it. I need to get out more. I would be all over that like a bad rash if it appeared on the market.
  17. Thanks Kevin. I guessed as much, but ...youknow...new things......
  18. I am sending a bass to Norway. UPS have given me a Customs Invoice. Where on earth do I put that? In the case? On the case in a clear plastic envelope? Can anyone give me guidance? Google cannot - or I have missed it.
  19. Go Bloopdad1 ! As an aside, if an amp is good for Bass Guitar, it is good for Double Bass as long as your pickup is looking at an impedance load it is happy with. A dedicated preamp is all that is needed.
  20. Their finishes are lovely.
  21. That switch is ALL sorts of wrong. Surely that can be done with a rotary switch?
