  1. I bought a bass from Andrea. It was very easy. The communication was very good. I would do so again tomorrow. Especially if it was a Deep 5.
  2. I am afraid the price is firm and I am not looking for trades. Thanks.
  3. All good, not my flavour. To your door.
  4. All good. Couple of scratches but all good. I will chuck the velcro in because I just love to share. Fancy it to mess with you know you do..
  5. You will need a seperate amp to drive them. Mac->amp->speaker. Older hifi seperate amps are cheap as chips on ebay.
  6. I can feel a Deep 5 GAS attack brewing. I do not need it NOW, but reckon it is on the way. Are there actually any in the UK? If you own one would you mind if I rolled over and tried it. I have bought with my eyes too many times and really need to be buying with my ears! PM conversatinos are fine :)
  7. EC claim to fame part 2. He sat in the same row as me when we both watched SRV in London back in thr day.
  8. I have used them for years. But not for long enough. I cannot play without them. I even use them in Church. Sadly we are not a monster Gospel Music event. Even an acoustic piano distorts my ears now. Use them or stop playing. No, really.

    1959 Jazz Bass

Already routed with bigger holes so messing with upgrading the pickups will be a breeze.
  10. I have discussed it with Mr Catswhiskers who initially suggested a Classic 5 Humbucker (http://www.catswhiskerpickups.co.uk/humbucker.html). I asked about the suitability of a dual P90 set up and he suggested the Fat Moggy. I am sure either would work and I would be more than happy with either. Thanks for being part of my stream of conciousness thought process. I will have the Fat Moggy.
  11. I cannot comment on the BTB specifically, but the pickups seem to be well liked with a nice preamp or passive
  12. There was talk that the Bart pickups were fine and dandy but the preamp was a weak link.
  13. There are only so many times I can take a hit for the team!
  14. Yes a P-94 I guess. Catswhiskers is calling it a Fat Moggy. http://www.catswhiskerpickups.co.uk/p90.html I am minded to go that way. But am open to suggestion.
  15. I have a Chinese Fender Maurader. It has a P90 in the neck which I like. It has a triplebucker in the bridge which I do not like. I am not a guitarist so am clueless. I know I like two J pickups full on. Should I transfer this to this guitar and go for another P90 (in a humbucker case) so having 2 x P90s or should I get a nicer humbucker? Whatever it will be will come from Catswhiskers pickups. Bear in mind that I have a bass with 2 J pickups and one P pickup in it with an East Uni Pre with extra switching to use all coils individually and I only ever use both J full on so the whole subtelty of different tones is not one I chase. TIA
