I really fancy the chorale noises the Big Sky makes. And the shimmer stuff. I have a Neunaber set up which does a lovely shimmer thing and a really great kind of infinite reverb thing. I will post an example of that in a moment. Superlong tails that can be left running while the effect is out of line. See next post for example. Can I get this chorale kind of effect on a unit that does not cost the wrong side of 400 quid? I could flog the Nunaber set up (slate 2 + exp) to offset cost but that also has a useful freeze function for sustaining notes. Humph

Am I the only one thinking all these should go up on a dedicated soundcloud page?

If you like Eden cabs and don't mind the weight then you can get VERY capable boxes for not much money. When I was young enough to not worry about weight I ran an Eden 410xlt driven by Chevin Audio A3000 bridged into it. Obviously never at full tilt, but it was a fearsome combination. Power corrupts but massive power gives you fabulous headroom.

I went from Kala to a HB and was disappointed. The law of dimishing returns certainly exists in this equation. I was dissapointed enough to buy my Kala back. But I have form in that aspect of things.

Good luck to them all. Any of us would be more than happy to have had so much exposure in the industry that people were discussing us on forums -
Custom moulded give a better seal. They give you more of a fighting chance. I would not think twice about it. The reason I am banging on here is that people read message boards and apply it to themselves. I have done it and doubtless will do it again. You only get one pair of ears. Do not go cheap on them. If you physically do not have the money then obv the 20 quid ones are where it is at. I carry a set of earpeace ones on my keyring as emergency spares. If not going out for a month will get you that 140 quid then that is what you should do.

If I could drop £5K on new ears to get rid of my tinnitus which is beginning to make it tricky to actually play then I would be flogging vintage kit right left and center. I am not joking. £140 for being able to play for the rest of your life is absolutely nothing. Just peanuts. And if you do not like the isolation but play with a drummer or guitarist who has no restraint, and we all do, then get over it and look after yourself. Until you have tinnitus then it is just something which happens to idiots. When get that 'oh :(' moment it is just too late. It is not if but when it will happen. No, really.

My NS was distorting on the bottom. It seems that I should change batteries more than once every 5 years!

I played a Uke Bass with these https://kalabrand.com/products/kala-metal-round-wound-u-bass-strings?variant=6032410753 on it yesterday. Proper Bass Guitar pitch and really nice. Nylon core so you will need a piezo pickup - but worth a thought.
