Vivanco phono 4 into 1 stereo passive mixer - £7. Alesis Nanocompressor - no PSU- £20 Cafe Walter piezo buffer - needs attention. I gave it to someone to put it in an instrument. He then lost it and found it several years later. It needs another jack socket but other than that I have no reason to believe it would not work - so it is yours for postage costs if you reckon you can make it work. I will include the custom drilled Altoids box which it used to live in before this bloke got all deconstructing on it. Yours for the postage. It might have been a Fishman but I REALLY cannot remember - £20 Loads of knobs - I will catalogue them tomorrow cos this post has already taken too much of my life.
  2. With an Fdeck preamp anything is fine.
  3. The tailpiece is a stopgap. The brass insert is for passing leads through for preamp stuff. The preamp will be installed under the fingerboard.
  4. As I get older I find myself using tone more and more - but that one big vol knob is way cool
  5. Sadly will not work with my iPad 3
  6. Life got in the way so I have not managed to send it off. It is going tomorrow so if anyone wants it, this is your chance. I am sending this Bass Direct in a week and then will have their comission on it. Yours for 2400 now for one week. I live in a beautiful area. I have more mountains and sea and stuff than I can shake a stick at. I have good friends and all that. Any disadvantages? The music scene is small and if I want to try anything that is remotely exotic I either have to go to the usual places which will be at the very least 7 hours travelling or I have to buy it to see. I bought the Lee Sklar recently because I have always wanted to try one. It is an exceptionally fine bass. It is very light. It is very resonant. It sounds great. The active aspect is full and beefy. The passive option keeps it real for older school tone. The Glockenklang pre turns the treble into a passive tone control in the passive mode. This could quite happily be my one bass to rule them all. But I have other basses which I really like for various reasons. I would have to flog them to pay for this one. Something has to give and on reflection the Sklar is going. I am in no rush to sell. The price is firm and includes shipping. I am not looking for trades. The bass is in extraordinally good condition. It comes with 6 new spare sets of strings, the Dingwall gig bag and luxury leather strap. I have not managed to get the colour right in the pictures due to lighting. Pics in next post cos I cannot link to them on my phone. Want it you know you do.
  7. The Newtone ones are great. Not quite as great as TI Jazz rounds but way more reasonable price wise.
  8. Certainly a chance for anyone thinking of buying to come and mess with different instruments. There are SO many options even within strings that any shop can be extraordinarily daunting.
  9. If I was to do it again, I would just buy a drop in replacement. Thomann do it for a good price.
  10. Just as well I do not live close enough to pick that up.

  15. I used one of these as a bass cab a very long time ago. It was surprisingly effective.
  16. Oooh! Nice comparison, I fancy a set of those tapewounds. Thanks.
  17. The North West Wales Massive are bowing out. We love bass, but not enough to be stuck in snow or getting intimate with a wall. Of course, the weather will be fine, but we would look silly if not.
  18. Kala Ubass with Pahahoe strings.
