........... however, things change. Some time ago I bought a Chennell Arco Bass. It was proper lush, but in the BC way, it moved on and then something else came, and then that moved on. You know how it is. However, the build quality and aesthetics were something to behold and I thought of it often and fondly. I had also been thinking of commissioning a very small EUB with Uke Bass strings on it. But I had put all that behind me. And then I saw this I fought it for a bit, but as we all know, resistance is futile. Toby is making me a 5 string one with a curved fingerboard for a very small Double Bass vibe. It will have an Fdeck preamp mounted under the fingerboard. Nice and discreet, like. Toby does lovely things with lovely wood. I am excited.

Be gentle with me please. I am lost and it is a bit dark in here. I have an Fdeck HPF which is built as far as the circuit board (7cm x 3.5cm) goes but I want to put it into the smallest box possible to hang under a bassuke fingerboard. The bassuke will be built like a very small DB so will have space under the fingerboard. 1. Can someone point me in the direction of the smallest + slimmest box possible? 2. Can I use a 12V Alkaline A23 Battery to power it cos it is smaller than a PP3? 3. I want to use an on/off switch instead of volume. Can I do this without an audible "pop" when I operate it and what would you suggest? Smallest is bestest. 4. I would like to have a passive roll off tone control. Can I do this with a 3 position mini toggle? A) no roll off B) half off C) all the way down. Is this possible with switching different doobries in on different positions? Stop laughing. I am doing my best. 5. I need to the HPF to have a pot on it. Possibly a thumbwheel one for more stealth. Yes/no? 6. Any reason not to use 3.5mm jack sockets for in and out? Obviously I wll not be doing the work myself! But you had already guessed that. TIA.
